Youyesyou...that mockup is sex. Yes pure sex.

would be great if the new macbook pro looks quietly similar to this one :

(just forget the stupid screen-glass trackpad and the black bezel)

If you can could you take out the glass track pad and put it the standard macbook pro track pad. Just to get a feel for what the difference is. Good work on the keys though. Love the aluminum color keys, and i like the pure white as well. Anyone who says otherwise, we will throw down. Fisticuff style. Dear Baby Jesus in your swaddling clothes please release this machine. I swear ill be good. Everyone swears it too. Just release it on the 14th. Or tomorrow. When ever God. You know best.

Thats would be amazing!

Keyboard seems small to be able to get any real use out of it.

are you suggesting a huge trackpad that is a screen, to give a tablet option? seems cool, but the look and feel may be strange to get used too...

all these ppl complaing about the 'chicklet keyboard'... get over it...

and those threatening to not buy a MBP if it has the 'chicklet keyboard'... what a bunch of nonsense, you'll end up buying one even if you dislike it... plus S.J doesn't care what you want...

It looks more like a MacBook than a MacBook Pro. especially since it has two usb ports on the left side.
And the video port isn't a mini-dvi port its too small. just measure the mini dvi port on your macbook and measure a usb port.
they are roughly the same size. The video port (if it really is the video port) is much smaller.

I don't get everyone's fascination with a 16:9 screen over a 16:10. What will you get out of a wider but shorter screen? less screen space, less pixels?

16:9's only benefit that I can see, is that some movies will fit perfectly. Most summer blockbuster movies aren't even made to fit 16:9, so either way you're gonna end up with black bars.

Sure, it also changes the overall dimensions of the laptop, but is it really any convenience for a laptop to get wider?

I'm not trying to sound condescending to those who want 16:9, i just don't get how it's any better than 16:10. Please enlighten me.
13": 1280·800 » 1366·768 (give-and-take but 2.5% more pixels)
15": 1440·900 » 1600·900 (wider)
17": 1680·1050 » 1920·1080 (larger)

At least that's what we're hoping. If they go down, then I'm not for 16:9.

you know for all we know apple may have sent out presscards but coverd them with one of their neat little NDA's this would deffinitly be a typical apple thing to do :p

I can dream can't I
I need my macbook pro SOO bad:confused:

heh. "one more thin" - I like that.

Except it's probably not really thinner, just a bit tapered on the edge. Infact, if the iPhone is anything to go by, it's fatter in the middle ;)

wouldn't displays with those kind of pixel densities be expensive? btw, i would love to see that happen if it were the case. but heck no to a pixel decrease.

As does the 17" MBP.

17": 1920 * 1200 > 1920 * 1080 (smaller)

If they make a 16",, chances are it would be 1920x1080 since dell's display in their upcoming 16x9 notebook is that size

Great design, i just hope up coming Macbook Pro line, solves heat problem :)

Heat is generally a CPU/chipset problem because it's the components that generate heat. The laptop design's job is to disperse it quickly and evenly.

With that said, the 45nm penryns found in macbooks today already generate much less heat than the previous generation. If the new macbooks use the same CPU, and I expect them to do so, then the total heat generated will not change much. But perhaps with a good design, apple could make the apparent heat much less noticeable/ with fewer hotspots.

back to 16:9 vs 16:10 debate! I still want more opinions, why why why?

[edit] I just remembered from the spyshots that the battery was supposedly moved to the back and elongated. With all thigns constant, that apparent increase in surface area would help spread out the heat, making for a cooler feeling laptop.

What don't you get? Would you rather have more or less real estate?

more, but typically in the past, 16:9 displays are pixel reduced counter-parts of their 16:10 cousins. So that is why I didn't know why people would want 16:9 over 16:10. However, if apple uses those displays that dell is using, 16:9 but 1900x1080 @ 16", then that's not a bad deal. More pixels = better, i say!!
