MacBook Pro Display With Notch Shown in Alleged Photo Leak

this rumor is basically just a troll.
there are already ipad-pros with a small bezel *and* faceid. there is no need for one on macbooks.

Oh thank god! I do hope this is accurate. That looks perfectly fine. It seems more plausible to me but this is todays Apple we are talking about so I shall remain cautious for now.
Why everyone wants Apple to shave a few mm of bezel off is beyond me. Slimmer bezels are fine but thin to the point of having a notch? No. Who cares about ridiculously thin bezels when you are focusing on the display anyway. They ultimately melt away into the background when you’re focusing on the display.
That's funny because I personally have always found the notch to melt away on my iPhone. I never notice it unless I am intentionally trying to.
Split the menu bar with a notch: seems fine by me.
I can see a couple of issues:
- When a user sets the "Automatically hide and show the menubar": Will app content in that area just be hidden? Maybe Apple has to remove this option from macos?
- When a user triggers Mission Control (I do that often): That UX would have a change a bit... maybe straddle those prompts on either side of the notch?

Nope, that was the iSight camera on all Macs until they put it in the display.

I believe he did but his main goal was to have a slab of screen no notch no punch hole. Apparently that didn’t happen.
Are those LED backlights along the bottom?
if so, then either this image is a fake, since all reputable sources have all but confirmed a mini-LED display. Or, all reputable sources have once again been duped and they’re wrong, new MacBook Pros are not getting mini-LED, which means this image (and the notch) is real.

Atleast you can move the camera around the way you want too. The notch is there to stay forever 😆
I know what is shown in the photo. This is a ridiculous example. There are 20+ places to hide a better camera in a desktop or laptop in 2021.
The iMac G4 was cute, but also ultimately so problematic that it only lasted for two and a half years.
Maybe not the best example.

This is the OG’s that you are looking at. It may be a little problematic but they didn’t have any issues when it comes to the hardware. Everything was well thought process. In today’s world it doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. It all comes down to 💰💰

Nah MacRumors is where it’s at. I know it’s Apple behind the scenes that is spreading the rumor to obtain free publicity. Let’s be real here..Google event is next week and who’s even talking about it?
Until you want to tap to zoom into photos or have photos that fill up the entire display, view videos with a fixed wide aspect ratio or want to tap to fill up the display there also, or when playing a lot of games where it can cut into UI elements… then yes, I guess it is fine.
Unfortunately it gets in the way of all of those things and some other things I haven’t mentioned. There is no melting away there when it is so blatantly in your face and cuts into/blocks content.
A notch on a MacBook is a lot different than a notch on a phone. The notch will be where most people already have empty blank space on their status bar already.
Video won't be an issue either because even when in full screen, HD videos have black borders on the top and the bottom.

That’s a good point. They don’t even consider or give 2 cents on what a notch is. Wonder what exactly they are talking about
