Apple stop spreading false/sketchy rumors around. Are you doing this so people can talk about the upcoming Mac and the new event or what? Apple’s marketing team is working hard this weekend. Getting that free publicity, advertisement and attention.

So the notch is present and Face ID isn’t? What’s the point of having a notch???

If that's what Apple were doing (which is unlikely), why are you telling them to stop? If they're getting publicity and doing it purposefully, that would be successful marketing. And what would be wrong with that?

They must have been using a Samsung mobile. In this day and age we still get blurry photos...

If it’s sharp like a Prosser rendering then you know for sure it’s fake.

The real answer is WeChat compresses images heavily when copying and sharing images.

That would be a horrible UI tbh. Most people hover to the screen boundary to access menu items.
True. But aside from this, I don’t know how this wouldn’t turn into a fuster cluck. Expandable menus are another option. This is what I mean, forgive the quick Notes drawing with nothing drawn to scale, but without re-crafting the Menu Bar to accommodate a theoretical notch this won’t work as per people’s screenshots of their desktops.

Actually.. I just thought of something as I scrolled up and down on a web page on the iPad in Safari. This concept.. but with the top minimizing when your mouse is not on it or near it. If you tap/click on the Safari menu bar on an iPad or iPhone, it expands to show more options. What if it collapses back to notched first line when you aren’t using it, and when you hover the mouse near it, it expands to the second line? Since there is an option in macOS Monterey to keep the Menu Bar always present (or expanded in this case), why not?

We got epic cameras and but as soon as it is used to take pics of leaks, it suddenly goes back to 320x162 resolution

I welcome it because if it's necessary it probably means something close to an XPS design with tiny bezels (smaller laptop, larger screen). You will still have your full 14 or 16 inch 16:10 display, there will be extra screen around the notch that would otherwise have been blank bezel anyway.

Apple is not behind the curve. The benchmarks you used have compromises in other aspects. Not a fair comparison at all.
Not that I am concerned with. So yes, this is a fair comparison. Apple is behind the curve. The iPad Mini 6's "all screen" design has an 80% screen to body ratio. That is pathetic.

If you believe this rumor, the same person claims it's just a low-resolution 2MP camera. That's it. We're adding a notch...for a 2MP camera with no Face ID capabilities.
That one part of a sketchy rumour may be true doesn‘t mean that all other parts must be true as well. I trust Apple to make rational decisions (most of the time).

Meh - it will just take up some of the unused space in the middle of the menubar and give us more usable space for apps. Will be nice to get rid of the bezel 👍

Smartphones and cameras aren’t allowed in design areas and factories.

When someone sneaks in a smartphone, they won’t try to sneak in an iPhone 13 Pro Max with a battery pack and studio lighting equipment to take the best photo.

But it kinda hilarious to imagine them doing that, isn't it
