MacBook Pro Inventories Dwindling?

If the MBP update is small (i.e. only a processor upgrade) however, a 2/19 update is more probable.

I know, and I've gone through that rationalization in my head too... I just REALLY want them to update it this Tuesday :( Granted I haven't been waiting as long as a lot of people on these forums have, but I'm not a very patient person haha

i'm on apple store right now & ordered 10 units of mbp hoping that someone will tell me that we don't have enough stocks...should i change my order to 50 & cancel it afterwards??? just to get even...steven :D:D:D
 
I have been patiently waiting for the new MBP to come out, and to be honest the wait is killing me. However I saw this news item earlier which may not bode well for an imminent update:

I have decided not to sign into MR on Tuesday as it's simply to worst when Apples Store goes down, all the kerfuffle for the duration, then the rants when a pink bluetooth mouse comes out... ;)

Yes, you should DEFINITELY order 50. let's drain that stock baby! I would do the same if i had that much credit.....hmmm....will apple take a P.O. (gears in head are turning)
 
The one thing I really hope for in the update is for the computer to run cooler. Seriously, the current ones can get up to 140 degrees or even higher. I don't want to feel like a hole is being burned in my legs if i use the notebook in my lap.

Woa, this is the worst news I've seen this week...:eek: Anybody could confirm that ?
 
Fact: Only the 15.3" Macbook Pros are running dry. The other MACBOOK PROS are NOT.
Also, almost EVERY Macbook lineup are on sale, this includes the Macbook 13.3", and Macbook Pro 15.4, and iMAC.

So this really means nothing, cause if all of these are on sale, then wouldn't they have to update the whole lineup?

The "good" part is Apple has been getting the 1st batches of chips lately, even when they are still limited quantities.

So even if true, it doesn't directly mean Apple products are impacted...

Check Bestbuy.com as well, they only have the 17" model on their web site. Granted, still some leftover inventory in the store, but they're completely out of stock of their 15" MBPs. Been like that for a few days as far as I know.
 
Ordering on a cusp...

FWIW, here are my experiences ordering directly from Apple amidst update rumours:

July/05: My original iBook G4 got stolen, and my replacement, ordered direct from Apple, turned up after quite a wait with a nifty hybridisation of the computer I ordered and the motherboard Apple announced that same summer. I didn't get a SuperDrive, but I did get Bluetooth, so I shrugged my shoulders.

December/07: My replacement iBook G4 got stolen. My new MBP had to come all the way from Shanghai, but that could be because I upgraded the hard drive.

You get burned, you get lucky: It seems like it all evens out over time. And really, I just moved from a G4 to a Core Duo 2. I think I can handle not getting a Penryn.

I must have checked bestbuy.com 20 times in the past 24 hours and it has always shown all three macbook pro models.

For a while(last night) it was saying that the 15" 2.4ghz MBP was SOLD OUT. I was excited because that obviously points to a potential release of the new penryn MBPs in the near future.

Today when I checked back it says the 15" 2.2ghz MBP is BACKORDERED, and the 15" 2.4ghz MBP is in stock, shipping immediately.

What gives?! before it was sold out, now it's shipping immediately? huh!?

Before more users freak out this is for DESKTOP processors. Note the 'E' and 'Q' in the processor numbers.

I haven't even seen a Q9xxx Series out for sale yet either. Isn't Intel still tweaking them?

you know i'm in the same boat as a lot of you, waiting for a new MBP annoucement. But it's really sad when i read comments like this, your heart sounds like it's been broken.

but don't you realize you're doing this to yourself?? hey i'm waiting too, but i'm not getting my hopes so (obviously and ridiculously) high. unless you want to smash your face on the floor like this every single time. haha. it's worth a chucke for the rest of us at least. :D
 
More evidence on Amazon rebates for current MBP's that are valid on purchases up to Monday February 18.

All things pointing to updates very soon!!!
 
Save yourself your normal Tuesday grief and wait until the Apple event on Feb. 26. That's most likely when it will be shown off. Actual release and shipment will most likely come in March.

Well with the earliest estimated release date being the 19th of February, wouldn't it be a little early to ship on the 20th? It would be sweet if it was a Penryn MBP, but even if it isn't, at least you're getting an extra .4 GHz :p

Apple has a 30 day return policy, i wud suggest not opening it and return it ASAP. They wud refund you. Check with the apple store near you if the can take returned products .

Hope the update comes soon !

I concur... but I customized my MBP... I thought that I wouldn't be able to do that? If they did update them, I just want some monetary refund back just to offset the difference in specs. Hahaha! Would it be possible?
 
Hopefully next week the new MBP will be released. It would also be nice if the update came with a $100 or $200 price drop.

yes, but theres no way im gonna buy a laptop with 9 months old technology for the same high price it was 9 months ago...so i wait...slowly going crazy.....not even knowing the difference between irony and sarcasm anymore.....the mbp is the greatest laptop in the world, i just wanna push the envelope with new technology ......and if all that envelope has inside it is macbook air,.........THEN CALL ME BRITNEY SPEARS...

ohh....and one more thing.....

i love bananas ...
