MacBook Pro Photo, No Physical Trackpad Buttons

I love it... but i might hold out a bit until the quad core becomes available and a bit cheaper. :D 3D Programing!

I have to say though, i'm a bit skeptical about the "no trackpad button" and not only that, the keyboard colour doesnt really match up to the overall looks.

What's a downturn in my view is the where the superdrive is located, i would have preferred it in the front and having the USB ports on both sides of the computer. :(

BUT mind you that laptop looks smokin' hot, i love the black bezel around the screen finally hides the isight camera and the mic! Also the magnetic latch, it's about time they bought that over to the MacBook Pros.

I do hope they would be options between glossy and matte screens, i'll probably go with the matte screen, glossy is a bit too glary for my eyes

Nice If this is real (which I guess many confirm it is now) I have to say I like the looks.

But I mean common, The black band around the screen? Ray Charles could have seen that one coming.

I quite like the look of that design and barring the new trackpad, it seems to be pretty much what we all thought it was going to be isn't it?

i would agree.. my bro has the new imac 24" and i think its really great.. im gonna buy a new MBP...

It's not making me reach for my wallet. If macbook has no firewire, & this really is the new pro, then I think i'll have to go refurb.

I just had an idea while looking at the images of the frame. It looks like they have really reinforced the touch pad area which got me thinking maybe they did it so that the whole touch pad can be used as button.
So you can "click" the pad instead of buttons.

Make sense coz now you have the extra space that was taken by the large single mouse button:D

What does everyone else think?

i think thats exactly what the rumors say.

also, to the person saying that it would be bad because he firmly presses on the trackpad, it looks like the bottom of the pad is what goes down. so its not the whole thing itself that goes down, its just the bottom of it that slants down when u press down. so if you keep your fingers in the same spot as the Air, in the top of the pad, you wont be pressing the click down.

Something odd about the picture. The notebook appears to have what looks like motion blur, possibly to prevent detailed examination. However the same blur doesn't occur in the background of the image, which I would have expected to be more pronounced.

Every single one of you who claim to dislike it will be back here in a week saying how much you love them now that youve been to an apple store and played with one. This happens everytime, you know it, i know it, everyone else knows it, your mom knows it. We have to keep moving forward. The changes to the MBP are necessary to stay cutting edge and at the same time produce controversy that creates the hype that makes apple products popular discussion. The current macbook pros are so outdated and ugly that we needed something radical. Forward Migration! When firewire replaced SCSI everyone complained up and down and left and right, now look where we are! Stop trying to fight the evolution and just go with it.

Agreed very much, no mouse button and no firewire? I'm outta there, refurb or at worst ebay for me.

Say that to me. I dislike this design. I do not like glossy screens, and I am unsure of how a trackpad without physical buttons will go over.

The current MacBook Pro design is still beautiful six years later.

When firewire replaced SCSI everyone complained up and down and left and right, now look where we are!

Now look where we are? I'm looking... and I'm seeing NO FIREWIRE. AND NOTHING BETTER TO REPLACE IT if this design is correct.

I think it looks great.

Usual moans from people. If it's too similar to the previous one, people complain and if it introduces new features people grumble too!!

if these rumours are true...
apple stocks will take a dive -_-

LOL. YOU don't like the design, so Apple stocks will dive. Great logic!

i read now a bit in the net, and im pretty convinced that these pics r fake... the blur, edges doesnt seem autentic and wtf... rumors sites confirm eachotheres pictures?? i do not dislike the design, but i wouldnt b surprised at all if we would c a totally different mbp today

I wonder how it is that nowadays everyone is a photoshop/foto/3d design/cad expert?

What about the edges is not authentic? And I still challenge anyone to come up with a fake that is remotely close to this one, including blurring, reflections etc..

I agree that it is strange that rumor site confirm pictures as real though.

never said im an expert... just wondering why there is not a clear shot... look at little space between top and bottom part of the mbp on the left side just behind the keyboard there is a little thing which looks like \ u should assume that on the right side it should b / but there its rather |

The reason for the blurryness is that this guy must have smuggled a phone inside the building where these things are sitting at the moment (it is customary to hand in cellphones at the reception when espionage is a possibility). Obviously this guy (or girl) has a job that he/she will lose when caught photographing.

In that case my pictures would also have been blurry. This is very risky stuff. You probably knwo how apple is with NDA's etc.

Why is people so afraid of change? Even before trying the stuff? I love the idea of NO buttons trackpad (or trackpad is the button). Brilliant in my eyes.

Do you think the 15" will have a Higher resolution option? (sorry if this question is stupid)

Hmm, I'm not so sure. have you ever tried to make a long drag while holding down the mouse button? A drag the involves lifting your finger from the trackpad or the mouse from the table. How would I do that if I have to hold the trackpad pressed? Should I involve another finger just to hold down the trackpad? Well, if that is that case what prevents me from trigger a multi finger feature?

If there is a matte screen option, wouldn't the obviously shiny black bezel cause a glare? Would be disturbing for me.

how about something like if u click more than 1 sec on an objekt you can just drag and drop it without having to actually leave the pad clicked

Why is one picture saying 'JR' and the other 'J.R.' ??
It's a signature so it should be the same and both have points or no points at all

I'm glad that I waited for 10 months for this new Mac.
Nice design and 2(!) GPUs: amazing!

I'll be a bit upset if there isn't a matte option (and I think I will, considering that the design resembles the iMac, and iMac doesn't have a matte option...), but if I really can't stand the glossy screen, I'm going to buy one of these.

At this point, apart getting confirmation of the Hybrid-SLI, the only thing that I wish is Blu-Ray :)
