So it gets to KY tonight. Sleepy time. Would the fly it out on Sunday night to arrive early Monday at local centers and make it on trucks on Monday? I’ve often seen things move ultra-quickly from China, but that was in the before times.

I think it will fly out of KY tonight / early AM Saturday. I don't see why they'd hold it there if there is a flight that goes to your city on Saturdays.

I live in Montreal and there is a flight that leaves KY to here on Saturday.

In theory you're right, unless they need custom clearance. Do we know if custom work weekends?

When you outsource a service and the Company providing the service shows they can't be reliable, you look for another company with better track record. If you put your brand in that joint venture, you will demand better service and more accountability.

Exactly. If UPS doesn't work for Apple, they'll use someone else. If Atlas/ATI doesn't work for Amazon, they'll use someone else. But neither of them are handling the flying in-house, which was the original assertion.

They’re probably precleared with a logistics partner a long time ago before they even land.

UPS is a bonded carrier in Canada at least, which means they can move things into the country before customs touches it. That’s how you can overnight things into Canada when they take care of customs before it even arrives.

It’s also how they can show up at your front door and ask fir brokerage charges before delivery.

My MBP is in KY too. Do we still think a Monday delivery is possible despite UPS saying Tuesday?
I was checking my shipping route record for the IPhone last month and I think it should be the same for this one. For me it will go from KY to Portland (there is one plane tomorrow) and last time it came to my town in Washington the next day it got to Portland, so I’m really seeing a Monday delivery.

I'm in Orange County, CA so I'm not sure if it comes to LA/Ontario from KY, but if it does I might be in luck. Unless they're going to be real sticklers about delivering it on Tuesday

For those who are interested in finding out for themselves..

Enter "KSDF" as origin and then look for your local airport as destination. In my case for Montreal, UPS flies into Mirabel airport (not Dorval International).

In my case, there is a flight scheduled to leave tomorrow at 5:23 AM and arriving at 7:23 AM. I suspect my Macbook will be on it... :)

this is what my tracking says now. I got fed up yesterday and just went down to my local apple store and purchased one there they had plenty of stock of the base 14. if the other one ever comes I will just return it.

Do you have UPS MyChoice? Log on via the website and cancel the pending request. I just did for mine… just in case it was going to get delivered somewhere else.

Nice.
I wonder if I can pick up my shipment from UPS office on Saturday at night, if it came on Saturday.
