Max of 16 gigs of memory on your highest end laptop? And it costs how much? What year is this?

Good idea to remove the SD Card slot, too.

Dongles, adapters, and a mishmash of compatibilites between all product lines.

Today was a very dark day for Apple Mac power users.

So many disappointments, it's hard to even wrap my head around and come to terms with this new lineup. Waited so long for the day a refresh came, and then they take us out back and give us a death by a thousand cuts. Brutal, treasonous savages.

I work off three different sites and for ***** and giggles I budgeted the cost of the adapters I would need to equip each of them without needing to carry them with me.

I stopped counting after $300. I hope my current Mac runs a long time cuz I ain't buying another one until USB-C gets MUCH more mainstream.

Forget the haters. I'm liking these updates a lot. Too bad I have zero need for a powerful laptop at this time. If however my employer (a) allows us to use Macs and (b) allows a bring-your-own-comptuer policy, I would 100% buy the new MBP.

I ordered my 15" MBP w/1TBSSD within one minute of the store going back on line. Estimated delivery November 17. I can't wait.

I was looking to upgrade but the necessity isn't super-urgent yet so no way I'm forking out AU $5200 for something that beats what I currently have. Plus I'm loving the 128GB SD card I've added to my current MBP - will keep me going a while yet.

I got one of the base 13 inch without the touch bar. I feel the touch bar is a total gimmick and will not make any meaningful impact on my usage. If I didn't absolutely need a new laptop I wouldn't have gotten this. But as is, my 2011 mbp is feeling its age.

I'm in the same boat. Definitely need to replace my 2010 11" Air. Been waiting for this update for a few months, but disappointed. No chance I'm picking up one of these overpriced machines. I'll probably end up getting the 13 Air or the previous MacBook Pro for $1200.

i do like camera bumps - they give me gorgeous pictures (function over form).

then I totally agree with you, the back the iPhone 7 looks awful but takes beautiful pictures, even if from the reviews I am seeing the google pixel camera seems to be superior

And so the absolute disgraceful launch tactics of Apple continue. Produce minimum stock, announce, delay delivery by 2 weeks on the first day and build up demand.

Happens with every single product they have launched since Angela started.

It apparently seems to work, except to completely piss off all the customers who didn't manage to order within the first hour..... Well done Apple.

Just another fine reason to lose more customers. it is amazing.
It's amazing how much insight you have into their production chain. Can you ask Tim and Steve a few questions for me since you are all on first name basis?

I'm not impressed by some gimmicky touch strip. It looks exactly the same for like the past 10 years.

Still no 17" and no damn gold color.

Easy pass!
I'm NOT impressed by a feature I've never used. /sAnd considering the actual laptop form factor has been around for like 30 years, not surprising that they didn't reinvent the wheel, since the wheel still turns.

I've got some questions too since this guy knows the internal workings of Apple so intimately.

I think that is a most accurate assessment.
Correct. Online poll (I know not the most accurate) that 9 to 5 Mac ran had about 65% of readers saying they would buy some version of what Apple introduced while 35% said no way.

It does make you wonder if all the people complaining about it here are just a small group of extremely vocal critics who just love to whine about Apple's every move, day in and day out, but aren't representative of the needs and wants of Apple's user base in general.

Best comment so far!!! Apple just doesn't care those whiners!!! If you don't like, buy elsewhere.

Timmy did it again.

After 4 years: new MacBooks without magsafe, less battery time (10 hours vs 12 of the MacBook air) and older skylake CPU

battery should have been 16 hours, magsafe should have been adapted to usb-c and the Kaby Lake CPU should have been included since these are expensive PRO models

even with an unlimited budget you can't have these features in your mac laptop today

ANNOYING when you have to spend thousand of dollars on a product and still don't have the best and greatest

but hey you can have emojis showing on your bar !

Jony again putting thinner before functionality. SAD day for Apple customers.

It's pretty hypocritical to criticize people for complaining about something they've never used and then be 'sure' that it will be 'amazing and extremely useful'; also without using it.
I'm basing that on 1) past history with Apple 2) reading reviews written by people who have used it. And I'm not necessarily criticizing anyone. I'm noting a pattern that happens again and again that usually indicated Apple has made something good. :)

I guess you love buying expensive neutered laptops !

you most likely were one of the people who loved the 2014 neutered mac mini which is still today much worse then the 2012 model....with soldered ram and removal of the 4 core processors !

I don't have to use a laptop to understand that I will have to shell thousands of dollars and no longer have magsafe, the latest kabylake CPU and less battery life.

I was really hoping folks would protest the direction Apple is heading with their wallets but it doesn't seem that's happening yet.

I'm so disappointed and unhappy with the high price and the fact you should need to buy several chords or adapters if you still want to charge your iPhone or iPad (Apple): how much is going to cost to get a new Macbook Pro, adapters included?
I'm not ready to change everything for a touch bar. Why are you eliminating the MagSafe?! And the SD card reader?! What about adapters for the external peripherals I have?
Apple: don't you have enough money?!
I used to love :apple: , not lately and from what I'm reading around a lot of users thinks the same
P.s. Thanks for not taking out the headphone port :p

every customer:
"touch bar? that's it? what is Apple doing?! this sucks!"
*clicks place order*
Why do you assume the same people buying them are the same people complaining about everything wrong with them? That is such a generalization that it's baffling.
