Then it's bad. It means the port will be unusable for peripherals while a monitor is connected, which is just sad. Why buy all lightpeak peripherals when you can get USB peripherals and use them while connector to your monitor ?
Especially for peripherals that do warrant lightpeak bandwidth, does are not things you carry around all the time...
I guess it's a good thing that FW and USB are still there.
The return of FW to the MacBook line ? Now that is big news.
I know these have now been "confirmed" But why is that mag safe port two different colors? Looks like 2 different images have been shopped together.

Then there's all the new icons plastered next to the ports. Why would Apple suddenly add all of those? They seem happy with the clean look now.
Those icons next to the ports have always been there.
it isn't only hyperthreating. the core i5 has turbo boost and much more addons (like aes encryption, ...) with turbo boost 2.6ghz ist possible with the core i5 2410M (this is the one with 2,3ghz) or 2,9ghz with one core.
First off all, the MBP does have icons next to each port currently, not seeing why that would change. Secondly, who says LP doesn't carry power? If it's based on copper for now, it can.Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8C148 Safari/6533.18.5)

Finally, the "Thunderbolt" lightning-arrow icon looks suspiciously like a lot of high voltage symbols. Why use it for anything not *primarily* intended to carry power?
I call "fake" on the image, at least.
I have been swapping out laptops since the Air came out (Powerbook G5 -> Air gen1 -> Air gen 2 -> Macbook Pro Unibody 15" -> Macbook Pro 13" -> Air gen 4).
The plastic wrap is covering half of the port.
Reading through the benchmarks and tests does show it to be slower than the 320M. No MUCH LESS, but definately not up to par with the 320M.
Don't just look at the bars, look at what is tested and remember the 320M is running with a Core 2 Duo processor which is slower than the Sandy Bridge processor used in combination with the Intel 3000 HD graphics.
The only time the Intel graphics were on par or higher than the 320M is when you had a CPU bound scenario and what was being benchmarked was the ability of the processor to feed the video hardware essentially. All GPU bound tests showed the 320M on top.
Going from the 320M to the Intel 3000 HD is a GPU downgrade. The CPU upgrade that comes with it manages to equalize things in certain scenarios which are not graphics intensive.
That's the gist of it.
Also, a 2.3Ghz i5 w/3MB cache doesn't exist. There's only one with 6MB on the Intel site. I think.
