Does anyone notice apple.com/macbookpro mentions 'the new MacBook Pro family'?
I can't wait!
My work is buying me a brand new MacBook Pro. I told them I want to wait until the next update so now I'm holding out for an i3 or i5 based 13" with 4GB of RAM.
Hurry up, Apple!

Alright, before anybody calls me out for this I recognize the source isn't the best barometer of a future release.
I'm starting to see more and more of the current generation MBPs popping up at discounted prices (new, in box) on craigslist. Mostly the low end 13" version, but there are about half a dozen posted in Central Florida bundled with software for between 700 and 800, and about as many in Northern Virginia (the two places I typically find myself).
Now this is a stretch, but just before the release of the PS3 Slim I noticed a number of the old PS3 units pop up on Craigslist, my roommate actually wound up buying one. It turned out that the employees at the Sony Style store had been given an opportunity to buy them at a discount and had exercised their money making brilliance by buying them and selling them quickly on Craigslist for a modest profit before the slim was released.
I have no reason to believe that Apple has provided a similar discount to an employee at any time ever. Moreover the general consensus has been that Apple Store Employees are typically among the last to know of an impending release. So with those factors in mind this is likely not based on that, but interesting all the same. I haven't seen a 15" 2.53 with that kind of markdown yet on Craigslist (NIB) so I haven't bitten, but if anybody wants a 13" 2.26 for $700-$800 it might be an option.
I actually purchased a NIB 15" unibody, with a 2.53 and 3 year apple care, less than two weeks ago for $1400. It was someone dealing on craigslist and he said he was a computer tech who works with macs. I consider that a pretty bog discount considering the total retail value would have been $2,049 at the apple store. He didn't even mention the AppleCare. I just found out it had it when I got home and looked up the machines serial number.
That is a sweet deal, would love to find something like that here! I always am hesitant with craigslist stuff, always worried I'll wind up with someone's stolen property and it'll get replevined and I'll be out the money and forced to try and seek out the seller for a refund/small claims battle.
Nowadays, it seems you need to know someone to get your foot in the door anywhere. Luckily for me, I know someone.Lucky you!
I need a good job...![]()
Well, it still isn't too late, is it?
It's about 10 AM in Cupertino, and they usually do updates between 12 PM and 3 PM.
