No complaints here.

Quite true. ATI made a good showing with the Mobility HD 5000 line.

I have some hopes for the GF104 to be the new G92. Then again that's for desktops right now.

The HD 5650 is looking quite good. DX11, and very good scores, yet appearing in the Acer 3820 and 4820, thin Arrandale 13" and 14" laptops, respectively.

That still doesn't invalidate my point.

I'm old enough to of worked in the IT admin industry for 5+ years and to know that you're so far up yourself you can see your own retinas.

Just because I own private stock in Franklin Law doesnt mean I can tell cmaier what he thinks. Just out of curiosity, how many Apple stocks do you own?
You really don't get it, do you?

The number of AAPL shares I own is immaterial at this point. It appears that you have zero knowledge about how big business works.

My guess is that you don't own a single share of AAPL, nor any large corporation, meaning you're not a shareholder at all. I'm not a majority shareholder for sure, but at least I have a voice.

I'm pretty sure that you have none, at least on a corporate level.

Keep plugging away, kiddo, some day, someone might even listen to you. And just because you've been toiling in the IT industry for 5+ years doesn't mean you know anything about business.

Oh, and don't worry about me invalidating your point. You have already done plenty to do so.

Yep just keep on proving my point why don't ya?

BTW, I own private stock in Franklin Law. That example wasn't metaphorical.

400 shader cores looks very passable. The desktop 5570 made a good showing for being a low profile card.

Do you mean that as in you agree or disagree with me?
nVidia is increasing becoming less relevant in GPUs but the Optimus technology is impressive when you can rip the GPU right out of the machine while it's powered on. I think the biggest concern right now is in mobile GPU drivers and their frequency of updates.

If those Fermi benchmarks are true I wouldn't get my hopes up.
I'm looking for something more powerful than a 5770 but not with the 5850 price tag. A GTS 440/450 looks like it'll accomplish that quite well.

If you're really lucky, the Fermi release will make the 5850 at the 5770 price.

I'm laughing all the way to the bank.

You seem to be really unhappy about some Apple equipment specs most of the time. That's basically why I think your comments are B.S. I could be wrong.

AAPL has outstripped the performance of practically every other S&P 500 component over the past five years. That's about as long as I've owned AAPL.

If you were tripping over moneybags like most AAPL shareholders, you really wouldn't give a sh*t about the spec of some random device. Plus, most of your posts here at MacRumors have consistently been messages that don't increase AAPL shareholder value. That's basically why I think you've full of sh*t.

Do what you want. I am raking in the dough like crazy.

If you are laughing all the way to the bank, good for you. I can't blame you for your superior foresight.

3Mb is the best sped in my area. And in the middle of Silicon Valley. :( I can't even stream 720p, so I'd use Blu-ray

I bet you can get Cable internet in your Area:)
3Mb:eek:
I can get 12 Mb and i'm in a Town of 8000 people

Please let it be this Tuesday with the Pro's at this rate depending on what is unveild I might just get the base 17 inch from the Apple Store

I think it'll be interesting to see if Apple couples the GPU with GDDR5. Memory bandwidth in mobile GPUs has stagnated for years. The recommended GDDR3 spec for the 8600M GT was 700MHz in 2007, 800Mhz for the 9600M GT, and even the Mobility HD5650 is still 800Mhz GDDR3. I'm hoping for the Mobility HD5750 since that's the lowest model ATI couples with GDDR5 along with the HD5770. Even the Mobility HD5830 which looks good on paper with 800 SPs probably isn't much better than the HD5770 since the HD5830 is limited to GDDR3 so would be substantially bandwidth starved.

A 1GB VRAM option would be nice, but I believe Apple may only have space for 4 memory chips on the motherboard and since GDDR5 density is still at 128MB per chip, a 1GB option might not be possible.

If you're really lucky, the Fermi release will make the 5850 at the 5770 price.
The MSRP of the HD5850 is $299 and the MSRP of the HD5770 is $159. There's no way ATI can cut the price of the HD5850 by half. The best is probably droping the HD5850 to $249, the HD5830 to $199 where it should have been to begin with, and the HD5770 to $149.

So am I, from all the jokes my friends text me.

Don't mistake seriousness for being unhappy.

See, there you go again. You're using the fact that you're a shareholder like a status symbol to invalidate arguments. It doesn't work, and only annoys people.

BTW, you don't seem to know what private stocks are. There's no foresight on my part or bank laughing to do.

GDDR5 is a godsend since you can increase bandwidth (x2 over GDDR3 at the same clock) without dealing with increasing the memory interface size.

A 1GB VRAM option would be nice, but I believe Apple may only have space for 4 memory chips on the motherboard and since GDDR5 density is still at 128MB per chip, a 1GB option might not be possible.
Yikes, no wonder VRAM sizes are so low.

The desktop HD 5830 was completely disappointing coming from the HD 4830.

That still doesn't invalidate my point.

yeah, right. you're username is freaking "morphing dragon" and you have god of war as your avatar. I'm guessing around 15 years old.

anyone know approx how much it'll cost to do an upgrade? mine's a 2.53ghz mbp with 500gb hd and 4gb ram. im hoping i can upgrade for like under 200 or something...

Why? There's nothing wrong with the machine you have now. Wait for the next upgrade - you could start a thread...

So I started working in the IT Admin industry when I was 10? (Sweet)

MorphingDragon is a nickname, so what? I know a 32 year-old that has a nickname fluffybunnies. A user around here has an original picture of Where The Wild Things Are for his avatar.

What's wrong with games? Why can't an adult play games? Are you that boring? Would you rather I has an avatar of my own business' Logo?

Solve this problem, I'm a University Student, I'm old enough to be GST registered and to old a credit card. Yet I'm not so old i'm dead. How old am I?

i'm excited for this update...but i'm more excited about the new iphone :D
I was excited about mbp updates...oh 4months ago...not so much now...it just became a drag...but good to hear that this is turning into a reality :D

I'm just calling it as i see it. and I highly doubt some supposed buisnessman of your stature would be arguing about how awesome you are on a forum about the upcoming update of macbook pros.

I wouldn't even bother typing out a reply if I were you. ;) But yeah, I totally agree with your viewpoint.

Take your glasses off, they seem to have something wrong with them.

I was lucky enough to be in a position to be offered private stock, that doesn't make me a businessman.

I've never argued how awesome I am.

Nah, this is fun. Great practice for University.
