I hope those are the MB Air prices... I'd planned on getting the wife a Macbook Pro to replace her HP sometime soon - was probably going to be either a 13 or 15in and then I'd update the RAM myself. As it looks the 15in is too rich for our blood now.

Please Steve....a new 13" MBP.... decent discrete graphics that don't make me want to punch my dog in the face...and if you have time, upgraded CPUs, SSDs and everything else people here are asking for... ::apple:)

Do we think that apple will include usb3 ports on these things?
Certainly not on the 13" model for now. Better chance for the 15" or 17" models, but you probably don't want to hold your breath on this round. More likely 6-12 months out.

Higher chance of seeing USB3 on the next Mac Pro first (whenever that comes out). Intel is not building USB3 support into their chips this year, so it's third-party USB chips for the time being. That will hamper adoption in the mass market.

Don't worry yourself, you can always buy a refurb from the Apple Store. Besides, with all this waiting you should have plenty of money saved.

with the amount of money i've saved up, im ready to pull the trigger on both a new mac pro and a new macbook pro as soon as they're announced. Ive been waiting since January since both of my old reliable PPC machines died on the exact same day.

Can't wait going to be my first mac!!! Hopefully i7 Quad is the standard and usb3.0. Better graphics would be nice! Do you guys like the current design and just want the "guts" updated or do you want a complete refresh.

Holy ****, its actually might come this week. I'm really hoping for the ATI 5xxx mobility series to be included in these.

Hmm... If the 17" gets a quad-core and an AMD 5xxx series GPU, I might be tempted to get one. Been dying for a higher resolution display for my laptop. BUT, I wonder if I can still edit pictures in the car with its bigger size :D.

Honestly for me, if there isn't a quad in the 17", I won't see the reason to spend the green.

And oh man, if they ditch the SuperDrive, I will be ecstatic. I ditched by SuperDrive for an 80GB SSD drive. Love it if Apple moved to allowing us to have two hard drives and/or 3 memory slots. I say 3 because the i5's have support for triple channel RAM. HAWT.

Does anyone think these notebooks will have a big update, like going to the Unibody MBP's in October? Would it worth to get one of these laptops now? I want to upgrade from an early 2008 laptop.

Here we go. First people gripe about them not here then when they start to arrive people start complaining about specs.

Get a life people..Wow.

no one is complaining about specs because specs are not given as of yet its all speculation their is talk however about no 13" mbp. so nice try with your post it might have been relevant in a few days but next time maybe you would like to read what people are talking about before you make a comment like that to seem cool.

It's crazy getting bent out of shape because of this story. This is just a list of prices without any idea about models or specs.

Dear Apple,

Premium computers at premium prices are fine with me, but please make your MBP HD capacities equivalent to your non-premium competitors.

Thank you.

I don't know why everyone is so worried, they absolutely have to upgrade the 13" MPB if they're dropping the price of the Whitebook ($799). Else you you get the Whitebook for $400 cheaper with the same specs as the $1199 MBP? That would render the 13" MPB completely obsolete.

I may be about to commit Mac fan heresy, but I know Apple computers aren't the best things out there. I could get the same specs for a lot cheaper, but I like OS X and the look of the Macs. However, I've been waiting till the updates come out to make my final choice. I'm not gonna get worked up till they do, but a pc with windows 7 (which isn't bad at all, I've worked with it for the last month) is looking better and better. I'd love to get a 13", but if it isn't updated, or if the price goes up astronomically because of a minimal update, I'm moving to the dark side: PC Land.

No one knows.

Generally speaking, Apple does not pre-announce products (the original iPhone and this year's iPad were two rare exceptions -- even then, Apple did not list all the specs).

You'll have to wait until the official announcement to see what Apple has to offer. Just like everyone else.

I think these updates will be pretty amazing, and you are going to be enjoying your new mac in a few weeks.

those are all the current models same prices same specs , or am i missing something?? they're all CD2

Does anyone but me find the price differential from the lowest end to the highest end, narrower than ever?
My guess is that this is an incomplete listing of SKUs for the Mac product line and thus cannot be used to determine the range of price points that the new Macs will be offered at.

The MC207LL/A has been at $799 at MicroCenter for almost 4 months now.....where have you been?

LOL (really!)

Nice Blu-Ray joke at the bottom. Is it still not a bag of hurt for you? Blu Ray was the worst idea ever. I'm not going to take long to explain it, but it uses H.264 super compression. And a DVD player usually has a 1080p upscaler anyway!
