OK ... here is the scoop ... !

While working on the development of the new iPhone, Apple engineers discovered that they had found the secret of time travel. When they tried it out, they went into the future and came back with a new processor that is 1/22 the thickness of the 65nm merom and brought the specs back with them. The MBPs will not come out with merom chips but with a new Core 5 sextent microprocessor that runs at 533THz...with a FSB of 1655GHz. The new MBPs will be in a new transparent aluminum alloy shell and will only be 1/2" thick. The new graphics system is actual 3d with trusense feel and smell properties. The screen size is adjustable from 11 inches up to 24 inches and it actually folds in quarters and can be carried in your shirt pocket

:D

Mac: Hello, I'm a Mac
PC: And I'm a Pc. I feel good today, like some kind of speed increase.
Mac: Well, I feel like that everyday since apple is always has the latest technology in all of its product lines. I even came with a free nano and printer.

PC: I just made this cool new app for vista in visual studio 2005. I'll just email it to you.
Mac: OK I'll just open vista in parallels and run it. What's this? How come my computer won't recognize it?
PC: You didn't get the refresh?
Mac: What refresh? I have a dual core processor.

Pc: OH theres this new processor called core 2 duo which is 64-bit. You can create and run 64-bit apps which must be why you couldn't open the new 64-bit app that i sent you.

Mac: Well I have to go to sleep, my computers running a little hot right now.
Pc: Well core 2 duo is better with things like that.

Mac:zzzzz
PC: Well looks like i beat you at your own game. Must've been one of those Macbook Pros.

Just wondering...if Apple was to release any updates tomorrow, what time do you guys think it would be at? (Pacific Standard Time). Would I have time to check the website quickly before school?

Even though I want a MBP really bad, I loved it.

2.) Is there any way to see the hardware discounts ADC offers before purchasing a membership? I would seriously consider joining ADC for the discount if it made it worth it (there is a $200 discount as it is using the Apple Store for Education for my particular university) when the new MBPs come out. But it would need to be at least $100 more of a discount to be worth it. And I would need to know this before buying the ADC membership...

The other benefits would be nice, as well. I have never done any development in a Mac environment, so I wouldn't mind the introduction ADC may offer...
If you want an introduction to development, start playing with XCode, then decide later if you can benefit from ADC. Access the store through here, clicking on United States, or whatever, then on "Hardware Purchase Program Store" under "Ordering Information."

I still think that looking at Brenthaven's website, http://www.brenthaven.com, is a good sign/indicator as to when macbook pro's are coming out. 15" on the 25th, 17" 5 days later. These release dates are too much of a coincidence to not be connected. What do you guys think? I think this is both good news and bad news. Bad news is it won't be out tomorrow. :-( Good news is, however, that if it is announced at Photokina, that more than likely means there are some pretty nice improvements to the machine than a mere update. Here's to hopin'!

AMD will probably offer good money for a few of these puppies so they can reverse engineer and patent the technologies in them before Intel even conceived of them. Talk about Apple shaping the future!

Anyone feel free to correct me, but iirc ADC Select membership is about a wash: $500 memebership gets you about $500 off a MBP, but you should get OS releases for free during your annual membership (namely 10.5).

AppleInsider - Apple to update MacBook lines in time for holidays

Apple Insider states that the development of Macbooks and Macbook Pro C2D is complete, and they will be available anytime between NOW and END OF NOVEMBER! END OF NOVEMBER?!?!? That's way too long. The only other dissapointment from this article is that they claim it's a minor update, meaning just processor more likely. I was hoping for a nice new Graphics card :-/ Tomorrow may be very unlikely...
Great find robotx21. Congrats and welcome to MacRumors Forums.

Apple to update MacBook lines in time for holidays

so we can all go to the source article without having to do anything but click on your link. Thanks for your help.

I'm thinking that AppleInsider is playing it safe by not predicting when these MacBook & MacBook Pros will ship. I still think tomorrow is likely if not next Monday at that press event. Remember how Apple used the opening expo day at NAB to launch the 17" CD MPB in April? Could be the same deal next week in Germany if it isn't tomorrow.
