I'm confused.

How many other sources have said tomorrow will have MBP updates and what sources are they?

If someone could clear that up it would be great.

macosxrumors and macshrine.

i think that if the MBP are not updated tomorrow i will buy a Mac Mini and a 23" ACD. Then wait for the MBP update and buy one then. This way i can continue to limp through my daily programming on the Mini until the MBP upgrade FINALLY does happen.

Hey - lets go easy on the "limp through" comments about the mini ;)

Our mini core duo w/2 GB ram has been VERY impressive. Fast, cool, good airport reception, light - probably the best computing buy out there at the moment.

Only another 16 hours or so to go.

anyways, back on topic...who will be buying a new mbp tomorrow? :D

I will buying right around October 16th. At that date I will be in a position to buy without sales tax. Pretty substantial savings since the rate is 8% here.

Considering a 17" as well but it'll just be too big to lug around.

Every time I think about the size differential in various Apple portables, I recall that commercial with Yao Ming taking out the 12" powerbook and Mini-Me pulling out the 17" on the airplane. That was funny stuff.

LOL, gotta love that commercial :D

That video still resides in my iPod to date along with an iBook G3 commercial. I like how the 17" ad was filmed in first/business class. Because trying to use a 17" in "sardine" class is virtually impossible.

Now you've got me thinking that maybe i should head into Delaware to make my purchase so i can do so w/o sales tax... hmmmm

I agree w/ you about the power vs. value ratio on the Mac Mini. How hard have you worked it? I could definitely qualm my anxiety about the MBP by buying a Mini because i'm Mac-less now.

That was a good comercial. Was that a Super Bowl debut?

Where do you live?

I have driven through Delaware a few times, it sucks, well the Interstates do.

Guys, Apple nearly drives me crazy. I just had a short nap mins ago. And I dreamed debut of new MBP! I still can remember this dream: the new MBP 17" is marked $2999, and I kept searching every page to see what spec it was. Then I woke up...... :(
...........I am going crazy........

Basic editing of 1080p HD video clips and 26,000 x 26,000 (that's right 26 thousand) high resolution photographs - development of 400 MB Keynote presentations including (HD video clips, high resolution photographs, QTVR, and gobs of animation). The mini will go with me on presentations as a solid backup to the laptop. It would do the job except for having to haul the keyboard around and mooching a monitor from the client - which would not be too impressive

Only 15 or 16 hours more until the "specal event" - we'll know soon about Photokina.

Regarding the potential release of a Anodized Black Aluminum MBP. What potential issues are foreseeable with this type of finish?

If they do it like Calphalon does with their cookware it'd probably last a lifetime... and then some... provided you don't put it into a dishwasher.

I'm starting to think that the 20" iMac is one of the most economically priced computers out there right now. And the 24" maybe even more so, since screens that big cost a fortune on their own. It's just a shame they don't have better graphics cards...

But yeah, bring on the new MBP's!

just to reconfirm what Apple Corps originally posted about a 16:30 event time; someone at Ars got an invite:

"Apple Special Event Presentation: September 25th 16:30~18:00h
Gürzenich Köln,
Martinstraße 29-37
50667 Koln
Cologne, Germany

Registration: 15:30h and reception to follow presentation."

so i know come 10:30 ill be ready :)

• 1920 x 1200 screen in NEW 19-20" Model - 20%
I know you are joking, right?? When I first saw the 19in (or was it 20in?) Acer model in a store I literally burst out laughing much to the distaste of the salesmen trying to sell one to a college student... the thing looks absolutely ridiculous. I would be shocked if Jobs didn't laugh as hard as I did - besides, Apple already has a "portable" 20in system... it's called an iMac ;)

.00001% chance of that happening... most of the other stuff you mention I agree with, though.
