If not, 24'' iMac.
If new MBP has x1600 still, but has new enclosure, and old MBP drops enough in price, I might bite on the old one.

Acer model in a store I literally burst out laughing much to the distaste of the salesmen trying to sell one to a college student... the thing looks absolutely ridiculous. I would be shocked if Jobs didn't laugh as hard as I did - besides, Apple already has a "portable" 20in system... it's called an iMac![]()
.00001% chance of that happening... most of the other stuff you mention I agree with, though.

Hey don't make fun. I'm sure there are thousands of people who would enjoy carrying one of those around. No? Hundreds? Um, okay, dozens? No? Anyone? Oh.Clydefrog said:the apple rep at compusa showed me the 20in acer i burst out laughing. The thing is undescribable
Yes, this is year round.sblasl said:There is no sales tax? Is this year round?
I live in Pennsylvania... the Mac store in Christiana Mall, DE is about 1hr, 30 min away from me. The Mac store in PA is about 45 min.ChickenSwartz said:Where do you live?

PCMacUser said:I'm starting to think that the 20" iMac is one of the most economically priced computers out there right now. And the 24" maybe even more so, since screens that big cost a fortune on their own. It's just a shame they don't have better graphics cards...
But yeah, bring on the new MBP's!
cwe said:Yeah, I'd like to know how we can find out for sure about an update (if any) tomorrow. Also, I noticed that when our local Apple store closed here in OKC tonight, all the salesmen had a "meeting" in the restaurant next door. May not mean a thing, but come on, it was Sunday night and the store was closed. They looked pretty serious sitting in there, too. Wonder what THAT means? Maybe they were getting ready for big sales tomorrow??
Seems like they're backing away from a MBP announcement at Photokina tomorrow. Really, a special event for Aperture?Anyway, in the case there's no MacBook Pro update tomorrow, we can expect the new line-up to be released in a matter of weeks. MacScoop
The question is, "what qualifies as major?"Sources have actually told us that Apple will not make any major hardware announcement until early 2007. MacScoop

Downside Is They Need ALL 2.33GHz Meroms For MacBook Pros. Much lower yield of that speed in the production ramp up. Thus the delay. If the expo doesn't start until Tuesday, then yes Tuesday. But if the expo starts tomorrow, Monday, then they will get the go tomorrow morning. I've lost track of which day the Photokina expo opens in Germany. Remeber they didn't announce the 17" MBP at NAB until the morning the expo opened.tekmoe said:IMO, if they had enough chips to stick in their 'consumer' grade iMacs, they better have enough chips to stick in their 'pro' grade laptops. again, IMO.

Yeah I just threw it in as a red herring.shadowx said:I know you are joking, right?? When I first saw the 19in (or was it 20in?)
