There's a store in OKC now? When did they put that in? Last I looked the closest was Dallas or Wichita, but I do see Penn Sq is listed now. Oh well, still over an hour away.

Here's something interesting though, but it may just be a conicidence.

From the OKC store's calendar, they list from 7p-8p local (CDT):

Aperture: Pro Workshop
See Aperture up close by joining us for special workshops, demonstrations and tips & tricks. Designed from the ground up for professional photographers, Aperture provides everything you need after the shoot. Featuring a RAW-focused workflow, it makes RAW as easy as JPEG, letting you import, edit, catalog, organize, retouch, publish and archive your images more effectively and efficiently than ever before. (Pro Workshop)

Wonder if that will be the new or (by then) old version?

Guess next time I hit town I'll have to go check out the store.

Yep ... great store in Penn Square. Trying to get info out of the salesmen there is NOT POSSIBLE. No matter how hard I try, they won't say a word, but then, as I understand it, they actually don't know.

I agree. I am out. Systems Physiology test tomorrow. Must put C2D out of mind.

Yeah.. same here, in the midst of lots of projects and assignments currently and I keep thinking "Hmm! A MBP would be so handy at this time!" with me ending up reading MR forums instead of doing them :D

I was in the Knoxville Apple Store today... it took so much to not buy the MBP then and there! Either way, I'm ordering one tomorrow.

i keep thinking, wow if i had a mbp i wouldnt keep reading this forums and i could study for my pathophysiology test
however if i had a mbp i would probably be reading these forums from class
oh the vicious cycle of lost productivity

its ironic that we are awaiting the release of the most productive notebook and wasting so much productivity in the midst of its release

Ah, we must live close to each other. I'm about an hour away from Knoxville, and I've been tempted to drive up to the mall and check out the MBPs, but haven't found the time yet. I think though that once I order one, I may have to head up there to keep myself from going crazy with the wait.

Sweeeeeeet.

For the folks that need a machine "yesterday" and are hoping for an announcment, don't feel too bad if you end up with a yonah. It's still a great machine. ;)

Besides, it could be worse. This could be the same as the wait for the G5 PB... oh, that's right... STILL waiting... ;)

So, a 90 minute press event, starting at 10:30 a.m. for those of you on Eastern Daylight Time.

I smell more that just an incremental upgrade of Aperture and iSight. Either another new concept in Photo editing software, a radical upgrade of Cinema Displays, or Merom MBPs, take your pick...

Tomorrow...
Aperture (yes)
iSight (possibly)
Cinema Displays (possibly)
macbook pro (no)

Tuesday...
nothing

I could see an hour and a half spent on showing photo professionals all the new minute details of the Aperture upgrade alone. Nothing else needs to be announced.

T-Minus 10.5 Hours And Counting . . . Not Necessarily A Steve Jobs Presentation

So Steve's keynote will be at 10:30 AM EST? If so, that's better than usual. I can wake up and not have to wait as long. :)
I would like to point out that we do not know if Steve Jobs will be a participant in this presentation to the photographic and computer press.

Only 10.5 hours from now it will have begun. :)

I think this thread needs a countdown clock. Kind of like the Time Square Countdown in '99 for the millenium. Some people panicking, some people just cringing in suspense ( Aiy, that's me.) When the countdown is over, let's hope we're all celebrating, and not running in panic!

<singing> "celebrate good times, c'mon! .. dee dee dee.."

oh, I think I'm officially delierious, it's going to be a long night.

Yeah, Apple should offer a free widget on its dashboard page...

unfortunately there are no cinema displays left in the refurb store of apple

please have more hardware than displays

please

pretty please

MBP!
bye

OK, the wad of cash in my pocket has burned a hole big enough for a Brinks truck...no, I take it back -- a CNBC live-feed truck, with its satellite antena in fully upright stance, to drive right thru. If MBPs are not announced today, this truck is driving straight (sort of) to Palo Alto!!!

Eh oh.. no displays?

Still tons of MBPs! Ships in 24h!

*chilling silence*

I fee like I've been waiting so long, I have to justify the time that I've wasted waiting.

I should just break down and buy. but the longer I wait, the more time I have to justify waiting, and the more time passes while I refuse to buy because I've been waiting so long.

::sigh::

I need a 2.33 mbpc2d w/ latch, keyboard. hd bays, one sided ports (so I can build my own docking station), and maybe some fancy new feature.

a pre-ratified .n wireless card and a non scratch redesigned enclosure would fill me with various indescribable glees. And I wait.

And, judging by way things are going for me lately (if we can believe the trajectory), this isn't happening tomorrow.

What's the worst rumor we've heard about this? holidays? early spring?

That's what I'm betting on. Just because that would vex me to the point of self-mutilation.

Balls.

Jobs' presence is very important. If he makes a keynote, we'll have more hope.

Say it ain't so. By then the G4 will have completely disintegrated. >_<;

The very worst will probably be Thanksgiving. They WILL have the new laptops available before the holiday buying season; I would bet money that it'll be Black Friday at the latest. Fear not; we won't have to wait until spring. *pats comfortingly*

Why? There was no keynote for the release of the core 2 duo iMacs a few weeks ago. They just appeared in the store, ready to buy. The MBP will probably receive a similar welcome--little fanfare, but available and ready to buy. No keynote necessary.

Thank you for the comfort pats.

It certainly has me pretty strung out. I'm at MSU studying fine art, and working full time as cover/original art designer/artist at the same time. I NEED that macbook pro. also if you check out my sig, I'm in a bit of a mess anyhow.

And trust me, I've put this computer through hell. It's HDD has been filled within 50MB for 2 years now. It's a big mess over here.

Ah well. I'm drunk now, so I can't call up the emotions necessary to be real. doesn't matter. This SUCKS. I'm with all of you.

Have you guys noticed how the MBP community has gathered during this time of trial and tires? I have. And I commend all of you (including myself) for really pulling together during a tough time. Just think. MBP tomorrow, a whole new world is born. A strong group of strong men and women rise from the turmoil exhibiting strength. We rise...

as one.
