Welcome to the club. I too am waiting for the MBP Merom to come out and finally cross over to the other side.

Ever since my girlfriend got an Apple, I've done nothing but dream about owning a Mac laptop.

If they don't come out tomorrow, I may go nuts and buy the current one....probably not though.

I would be in the same boat, but I can't justify buying something I know will be refreshed in about a month... hence the 24" iMac.

It's an awesome value, (C2D and a lot of screen real estate).... IF you can get over not being able to carry it around in a backpack, which I admit ain't easy.

Ahhh! I'm starting school tomorrow too, two time zones before you. I'm gonna be rushing from place to place IF it's announced tomorrow, ultimately tough but rewarding. But then I start in with the "What if?"s. Namely, when it's announced, what if it's not in stores yet?

I don't think they would offer that much of a discount even if you're a member. I am sure they are pretty much the same, and if you're thinking of adding the discount on top of your education one, I've never heard of any kind of discount offer used that way.

That's where you're wrong. For the low-end MBP, the educational discount is $200, while the ADC discount is $400. Factor in the $100 membership cost, and I save $100.
