Any idea on the price of the lower speed models?ergle2 said:Last I heard was late November. Very expensive tho' -- the fastest 2.66GHz model is listed at $1172 per CPU in units of 1000.
That was last night... I need to recover for the big day tomorrow...CellarDoor said:oh I'm wasted. and stoned. it doesn't make this waiting any easier. Word to the Wise.
Here's hoping that O'Grady's sources are wrong.I've previously posted that Apple will release a MacBook Pro based on the Intel Core 2 Duo (formerly "Merom") processor in late October or early November and sources indicate that this is pretty close to the mark.
<snip>
Apple ... has been putting the brakes on the C2D notebook launch. Of course they want to ship notebooks with the new silicon ASAP but there were a litany of problems with the original MacBook Pro (heat, whine, moo, battery, you name it) that they were forced to deal with first.
I dig his site and think he's a good guy and all, but are his sources EVER right any more?jericho878 said:Here's hoping that O'Grady's sources are wrong.
jericho878 said:ZDNet is also saying late October to early November for MBPs. The delay is apparently based on Apple wanting to resolve heat issues before launch. Link

I'm a pc user looking to cross over to the other side, and somehow I've gotten caught up in all this craziness!!! C2D? I don't even know why I want one...but I do. Logic and rationality have left the building ladies and gents, and I'm feeding off this mass MBP Merom Hysteria (I've never referred to laptop by an acronym in my life!!!). Merom...Merwho??? Woodcrest? Isn't that a deli in manhattan?
Is this Apple Induced Consumer Paralysis (AICP?) normal?
Help, I can't move my buying muscles...

It looks like the iMac may have the hardware to support 802.11n in the future, once the protocol is finalized. If this is the case, all models will likely get the same wireless upgrade with their next refresh.macman2790 said:Is there a possibility for an airport extreme 802.11n card for the macbook pro like the rumor in the imac on the homepage.
