MacBook Pro Upgrade At Photokina?

Here's something for Apple to take a look at for the new MBP:

These new batteries from Toshiba would be a wonder to have in the Macbook Pro. Toshiba claims it is possible to charge them to 80% of their capacity within 1 minute. A little downside though: Estimated power draw to charge a Macbook Pro battery would be 3kW (at 100% efficiency). Hope you have wiring and fuses to handle the load :)

I doubt airplanes and trains would provide you with enough current...
 
Increased Shipping Time for 15" MBP

Not sure if anyone has posted this yet but I note on the UK Apple Store that the shipping times for the 2.16GHz 15" MBP has increased to 5-days. Possibly an omen but then the shipping times for the 15" 2.0GHz and 17" are still at 24-hours.
 
Can someone give me the exact time this annoucenment is taking place. sorry to lazy to find it in this enormous thread.
and is anyone covering it?
 
Oh sweet, this things going to be on at 12:30am for me. That's waaaay better than 3am.

Well, I for one won't get my hopes up ;). That depends entirely on how much wine you've had today :rolleyes: . I agree that for those of us outside the US it's a much better schedule. Except for the fact that it'll interfere with work (and certainly not the other way around :D).

Well, no wine for me tonight, I drank about 1 litre of red last night and have only just got back to feeling like I'm actually awake.

Rule of thumb: Never walk home blind drunk listening to Scissor Sisters, you dance like a fool.

Anyway, I slept most of the evening so I'd be awake and chipper for hopefully an MB/MBP update from this event. Regardless, unless they say something of some substance, I'll be going forward with my "BlackBook" purchase in the next week or so. Sure, I'd love to have a C2D machine, but we'll see what happens.

Does anyone know if their will be any form of live broadcast or audiofeed from this event, or is it supposed to be a closed one unlike the one a few weeks ago, "It's Showtime..." ? I think this one is closed, because I can't find any linkage at Apple to it, or any notices or announcements of any kind about it.

Hopefully someone somewhere will be handing out or sneaking out pics or some audio feed so the rest of us can keep up. Maybe the MR IRC channel? Can anyone say yay or nay on a way to keep up with the goings on at the event or will we all be forced to just wait and see?

It's 1:53AM Pacific time as I type this so coming up on 5.5 hours or so...

If Steve just reads this thread and the amount of posts, he'll be smiling all the way to the bank because if everyone that has posted is planning to buy one these things Apples share price will sky rocket.
 
starting to wish it was earlier though, can't wait this long. Especially, as i'm trying to study but keep thinking about a shiny new MBP.
