Fact is, there will always (hopefully) be another update/upgrade just over the horizon, so: The time to drink is when you're thirsty. "Why wait any longer for the world to begin?"
What's so great about the current crop of Macs? That's fanboist thinking!
Let's start with the MBP.
1) ancient 3 year old design
2) Functionality over form... NOT.
-overheating.. why? Cos Ives didn't want to mar the clean look with a vent!
-ever thought of doing your own HD upgrade? Woah
-ding and scratch magnet
-see point above, hope you don't fly lest the TSA officers touch it
-probably nice in John Lennon's "white room", but 100% purely impractical in the real world.
3) For a bit over half the price, what can you get with PC laptops? C2D, discrete graphics (ok not great, but the MBP's is not GREAT either!), bigger hard drive, better case! What are you getting from a MBP that makes it stand out from the crowd? As in "stand out 100% price premium" from the crowd? Apart from the white Apple logo at the back of it, nothing.
Macbook?
-RSS, enough said.
Funny how Apple is so innovative yet they can't churn out problem-free hardware. This is not software we talking, it is hardware. Perhaps they are so innovative that even their hardware designs are... bugged? Oh hang on, that doesn't make sense, it is more like someone on their design teams fails math and can't even do simple calculations to ensure components get to disscipate heat properly.

Jeez, now any obscure expo is subject for speculation now? Just tell yourself it ain't coming till some marketoid gives the thumbs up, and leave it at that.
Systems... who cares? In Munich? Square that earlier who cares.
What's next?
Zomg! Compex in Singapore! Computerex in Jakarta! Apple releasing MBPs there! Please. Perhaps they should learn to do it the way others do it, and just release when it is done, without any need for funfare. This late in the game any media focus is going to be negative, if anything. "Apple releases new C2D Macbook Pros", if I am a journalist I will be sure to put in a comparison with a Dell C2D out long ago and how even that "new snazzy waste of column space" is so overpriced for what it offers.
