I’m afraid these are the dying days of the Touch Bar. Most developers aren’t going to support it now that only a few (rare) Macs have it. And having the Touch Bar fairly useless if software doesn’t support it.
They still have the Touch Bar on Sidecar, so I think professional apps will still use it

If Touch Bar is here to stay. I want Apple to let customers customize the Touch Bar. It needs to be revamped!

Apple letting customers customize something...surely you jest! 🙂

Please stop showing the touchbar. It's most definitely going the way of the dodo come October...
I'm out of the loop here. Seems like people don't like the Touchbar! I've always thought it looked cool but, admittedly, I've never used it (I use a MacBook Air).

What's the deal with the Touchbar and why don't people like it?

Touch-typing becomes pretty much impossible and you're forced to stare at your keyboard at all times, unless you want random functions to activate while you're using Office applications.
They were smoking something really good to think about putting a touchscreen outside your line of sight, instead of giving touch capabilities to the screen you were actually watching, that's for sure.

Cool updates as usual. Personally, I haven’t felt any draw to buy a Mac (or any) traditional computer since 2013(outside being tempted to build a gaming PC) after my mbp died and just didn’t have any reason to replace it. I might go back to Apple for a computer if there was a product with fast screen response times and the ability to play some recent games on high settings. My iPad Pro does what I need for everything media wise (streaming, browsing, books, music, simple video editing) plus document/presentation creation. PS5 for gaming. Work provides a barebones PC. I don’t expect Apple to bend over backwards for my wishlist of specs so I’ll probably simply keep reading about the new MacBooks 😂

"Apple's next-generation MacBook Pro slated for launch in the third quarter will feature 3nm processors, according to industry sources," the preview says.
Apple only released the 2023 M2 MBPs Jan 17, and today is 6 month anniversary so to speak. I guess DigiTimes authors don't get out very often spinning rumors about M3 MBPs already. Yeah I think we need 2 new iMacs instead of this rumor. :D

I think before ditching the Touch Bar. Apple needs to consider ditching the notch on MacBooks. It honestly serves no purpose. Not even Face ID. At least, Touch Bar is semi-functional.

In addition, we are also getting 13" iPad Pro models next year tho.

Sometimes I think Apple added the notch to the macbooks just so they can take it away in a couple years and make a big deal out if it

I’m waiting for the 0 nm chips, or better yet, the -3 nm chips. My theory is that the 0 nm chips will use no power and the -3nm chips will actually generate power. Enough -3nm chips and I can power my house or even my electric car! Whoopiee!!!!

🎯 💯

Make a thicker version of the MacBook Air to accommodate a fan & HDMI & SD card reader. That would be such an improvement.
I’d love to see a pared-down version of the 14” MacBook Pro, more of a ‘Prosumer’ notebook with a feature set that’s genuinely in between the Air and 14” Pro…

I suspect it would ditch the HDMI /SD card slot, but keep the TB port on the right side. It could have the M3 instead of the M3 Pro, but I’d really love to see it retain the mini-LED screen and the excellent speaker system. Maybe ProMotion could be another sacrificial lamb? Even though I appreciate it greatly. $1499? Not sure if making those concessions could slash $500 off the price.

There was nothing wrong with this design per sé. The butterfly keyboard & Touch Bar soured many people to it though. If Apple renovated this design by replacing the Touch Bar with regular function keys, upgraded the webcam to 1080p, and added MagSafe that would be a solid start.
For me, I would have loved the Touch Bar if it hadn’t replaced the function keys. It should have been a bar above the Fkeys. At least on the 15” Pro.

God I wish they'd get rid of this computer. Pure money grab at this point for people who see "pro" and think it's a premium product. In reality the Air is a better computer for less money, I feel for people doing unboxings of the M2 MBP on YouTube saying how they wanted more power than the Air and so got the Pro model.

I think the issue is not with the touchbar istelf, it's that the function keys got replaced. I wonder what a Macbook would look like with both the function keys and the Touch Bar?

If m3 max destroys M1 Max and at a reasonable price, I shall upgrade. Otherwise I’m riding out the M1 Max.

Apple silicon is excellent. In my opinion, the chips are now so performant and efficient for the masses that they are in diminishing returns for the level of investment necessary to achieve the requisite performance needed by the average user.

M1 / Pro / Max are more than enough for the vast majority of users who aren’t doing super intensive GPU or CPU tasks. Apple’s biggest competition is now it’s predecessor chips. Why pay the apple tax ( $$$ ) on m2 max or m3 max when M1 Max is more than enough ?
