What size screen MacBook Pro (2021) did you order?

They must either have a bunch stateside or tracking isn’t going to update until they hit customs. I know I’ve had things in the past magically appear in the states with other peoples’ shipments they had been tracking for a couple days. Really need the delivery date to be accurate… leaving town for a week shortly after.
There is a lot of people waiting for the UPS scans. Only few early ones got authorized. I really hope it shows up in UPS

10/26 delivery, but nothing from UPS yet. Maybe I’m out of the loop, but are we sure they’re coming by UPS and not FedEx. My last iMac 3 years ago arrived via FedEx.
I’m pretty sure it’s coming from the UPS. Only overnight deliveries will be handled via FedEx.

Sadly none. This is the first time I have hyper watched a hardware product in ages. Even when I got my 2016 MBP I was dealing with some family loss at the time. So, I am quite green in that camp and apologies I cannot help the cause.

I did twice call the MacBook a PowerBook while talking on the phone with a friend today 😂 Maybe it's because it reminds me of my last PowerBook.

I do not want to thread drift, but I know we are all unique individuals and the last 5 years of MBP releases worked for some of us. For me this MBP has been the crankiest portable I have ever had from Apple. I had Flexgate before it was called that to the point the bottom of my screen shattered at the cable (sorry I was not around to share that. Would have probably helped but I do have the gnarly photos) and the ports would get so loose. I would be presenting with a multiport connect which would shimmy off disconnecting the projector in front of oodles of people. It got to where I would need to tape it down and if you are moving room to room for each presentation it's a pain. The number of dongles I carry and number of times I have run out of ports to present was frustrating. My current MBP has seen a new keyboard, screen, logic board and keyboard. It's tough to get those things swapped when you are (were) on the road around 200 days a year. I am a clean freak who tries to take care of their gear but when you are often portable with a portable even my careful care was not enough.

I think its the reason I am Christmas like kid right now. I use my MBP so much and I miss how versatile previous models were. If I can get back to that I will be a happy kid. The speed and larger brighter monitor of what awaits is just icing on the cake for me.
That’s awesome! What a great story. Hope we get an update soon. 🤞

All deliveries I get in Australia are FedEx. I know the local delivery guys, and most often they just turn up and I don't get tracking...... [this is through Apple Business which isn't the same as the store channels].

I don’t miss that travel. I spent 36 years averaging 30-35 weeks of travel per year, trying to be home on weekends to help the family keep the farm going. Two years ago I hung up my travel hat and haven’t been in a plane since. Like you noted, that kind of travel can be hard on the equipment (both laptop and personal!), but it also gave me opportunities to see the world. Love my Apple laptops! 👍

Really hoping that current Preparing to Ship status for a listed Nov 3-5 delivery means it’ll be early! My current machine is from 2011 and I’m pretty sure Apple was still using FedEx that year… seem to remember PTS occurred 48ish hours before shipping back then.

No movement for me. 14” M1Pro 10/16 16/512 ordered at 10:59am PST Monday. Still in Shanghai since this morning. Shipping to southern California.

edit: 16/512, not 16/256

Nice! Just hanging out at a lounge. Maybe ups is waiting for other pallets to get scanned it so we can all get on board at the same time?

I have been told I at times used to fly more hours than pilots during my busy season (pre covid)

I keynote and feature speak at education technology conferences. As someone who mainly makes their living at large conferences it's a wonderful feeling to be back in front of educators and not stuck in a little video screen like I have been since March 2020 (like so many other people).

Probably will not end up on the road like I used to ever again due to people getting more used to the online option. I think smaller groups will sometimes opt for online presentations. However. Larger conferences are itching to get back and slowly dip their toes back into the waters and I will probably cry happy tears when I wear a conference badge again and see an audience.

Side track shout out to all of the educators who are working their rumps off and have been and some in the process falling in love with technology so much so that they are now attending EdTech conferences. I think I will be seeing a lot of new people and I cannot wait to meet them.
At least you will not have to deal with people like this anymore:

New shipment update! For all those relaxing in the lounge, time to pack it up!

Sounds painful, happy you're here experiencing the launch with us. I hear horror stories about the quality of 2016-2021 MacBook Pros. I'm upgrading from a late 2013 so I skipped the whole awkward phase. I went all in on this machine (32C GPU, 32GB RAM, 2TB SSD) and I plan on starting tons of creative work, I can't wait. Pre-Apple Silicon models were a slog that was holding us back.
The devils advocate in me is concerned about quality with these new books given covid / chip issues / new design / logistics issues, I'll be keeping a lot more keen eye on scrutinizing this than most hardware I've gotten before from a warranty standpoint. Not to say I'm regretting my purchase, but this isn't the best time for new technology I don't think is a controversial statement

Anyone still on Processing on the Apple Store and have a delivery date for 10/26?
Same here. I am starting to loose hope of it showing up on 10/26. Mainly since it has to start moving by now in order to get to US by that time. Saturday would be the last day.

I was comparing my iPhone order and this one. iPhone says standard shipping and MBP says express shipping. iPhone pre order came from China. Wonder if this means MBP is stateside. Folks who got UPS scans, does it say standard shipping on your order pages?
