Not going to lie. It is a very expensive notebook. Not sure if it’s really worth it. Not sure how much profit Apple is making out of it. But damn! Apple is asking $2.5K for a base model. like it’s nothing. That’s a 1 month of rent payment in Las Vegas. 3000 sq. House/5 bedrooms/3 1/2 bathroom so much more.

“Apple doesn’t specify exactly what fabric its cloth is made of, as the company only says that it has a “soft, nonabrasive material.” = made from the feathers of Angels’ wings…

Pardon me, I may have had a bit of ? at dinner…?

I have a feeling the Apple cloth cost Apple 0.50 cents and rest of it is pure profit. Apple decided to back order the product so people would want it more. Thus, profit will go up! 😞

Someone needs to Audit. We need an auditor.

i cant seem to get a definite answer, does anyone know what time the apple store updates its inventory on launch day? I've heard 5am PST, so is that 8am EST or is it 5am EST?

Italian and German Apple stores also show all basic configurations plus the following two BTO configurations in stock for store pickup (same with Australian stores):
14'' / M1 Max / 64GB / 2TB
16'' / M1 Max / 64GB / 4TB

It's starting to look like these are probably going to be the 'maxed out' models we'll see in store tomorrow here in the US.

Can some one with 14 inch model with either 24 or 32-core GPU PLEASE benchmark some games to see when it throttles? and how hot/warm it gets?

I’m in the same boat as you. That’s my last scan. Hoping they will pop up in the US by tomorrow morning.
 
At what point will supply stabilize and one will be able to walk into an Apple store and walk out with a standard configuration of any of the models? I'm negotiating job offers + still doing interviews and don't want to jump the gun and buy a new laptop only to find out the new company will offer comp or something for it (or potentially even be a partner with a discount?).

If I don't go in on launch day will I have to wait until the new year?
 
Which time EST do you all think the Macbooks will show as in-stock on the Apple Store site for purchase? I'd rather not stay up refreshing my browser :)
 
Can someone explain to me if I should update my 2018 15" to Monterey from Catalina. I want to do a device to device transfer with my new m1 tomorrow and was wondering if it would help to update? I am new to setting up new Macs.

YES!!! I was one of the idiots that bought it brand new 5 years ago. The large version. It’s actually gone up in value now (if you check eBay) because like 8 people bought it so they’re kinda rare. But it’s the kinda thing that will take a long time to sell if you wanted to sell it.

ive asked the same question, ive heard 5am, but im not sure if that is EST or PST, ive heard both, so confusing
