Dbrand Black swarm on my SG MBP. Nice quality and the apple cutout was awesome! Also has holes for the cover screws on the bottom side. I didn’t wrap the inside though - a little worried about possible screen contact. The texture is nice and grippy - and I still can slide it in/out of my sleeve.

Okay I totally refrained from saying anything yesterday when you went to the store because I wanted to feel guilt free when this moment arrived.

Now I get to just be happy about the inevitable. Congratulations 🥳

Which size did you get?

Also, you guys… I’m scared. Although I’m in love with my laptop, this morning I woke up wondering if I should have shelled out the extra $200 for the extra storage.

I plan on this laptop carrying me through the next 5 years and I managed to survive on my 2013 one with 256GB

Argh now I’m teetering on the fence on reordering one with more storage 🤦🏼‍♀️

I exchanged my 512 preorder for 1 TB yesterday. I feel relieved I did as saving $200 just isn’t worth it if it isn’t enough storage. So, maybe upgrade?

You can just pick up a Thunderbolt 4 external SSD.

New 14" MBP was out on the truck for delivery and I spot checked the follow me map every so often on the UPS app. Driver shows up and delivers a big box of something else I ordered for my business. I always have the same driver. He acknowledges me and shows me on his handheld that a high value signature required item was supposed to be delivered as well but it wasn't anywhere on the truck that he could see. Tracking info shows that the pre-loading crew at the distribution center put it on the truck at 4:30am but he can't find it. He says it might be hidden somewhere in the vehicle and if he finds it he'll come back, then off he goes.

I'm not blaming him but at this point I don't know what to think or feel. I only think of the worst case scenario that it was stolen and a claim will have to be put in and Apple will get involved, who knows when I would get my new toy! I'm desperately wanting this thing and decide to buy one for pickup at the nearby Apple Store. They might run out and I have no idea how quickly the missing one would be replaced or dealt with. I get charged and the pickup confirmation email comes through. The UPS app shows the package still out for delivery until 7pm.

A few hours later I go back to working on a project in another room. Afterward I come back to my office area and check the status from UPS. I check the follow me map and it now says it was delivered and thus it won't show the map anymore, but the tracking details still only say out for delivery. What in the actual F$@%!

At this point I think someone at UPS is playing games and actually stole it. I'm thinking the worst about my driver. How could he do this to me? I've known him for years through dozens and dozens of deliveries. I'm pissed.

I turn around and there's the box from UPS sitting on a table. The driver found it and came back, and one of my people signed for it while I was in the other room. She went out front to look for me but I came in through the back so we missed each other. I check the UPS status and now the tracking details are updated showing the delivery time and her signature.

Crisis averted.

See if your Apple store has the model you want in stock and then do a return as you are picking up the new 😉😁

You got 14 days to decide. Get what makes you happy. If I was in your shoes I would upgrade due to the fact you won’t be upgrading every year like me 😆
