Same. Friday delivery on FedEx, Nov. 2 on Apple. Mine got to Memphis yesterday morning and hasn’t moved since then. I’m a bit concerned since not used to FedEx, are they usually accurate on their delivery estimate?

USB C to USB A adapter should work just fine.
Sadly, that kicks off on Nov first week (based on last year) https://www.macrumors.com/2020/11/10/apple-launches-extended-holiday-return-period/ so seem to be 14 days still

Yep, mechanical issues of some sort. I'm in the same boat, err plane.
Typically the shipper updates are a little more reliable. In my experience, anyway.
Yep. Same. Macrumors main page, AppleInsider, 9to5mac all are carrying stories about it as well. Only word from UPS is "mechanical issues".
My MBP was one of the ones stuck in Shanghai… now it’s saying delivery change requested, along with “Delivery to a UPS Access Point Pending”. Anyone know anything? I didn’t request anything.
My 14” BTO that was Nov 3-5 just arrived!!!! Go FedEx! (They also left it at the door without a signature… maybe I have that set up in my FedEx account??)

After spending hours on the phone with Apple, their only explanation was that it was stuck in "processing" from the pre-order date and got reset yesterday. They won't do anything about it and essentially said it was bad luck. I have to wait until December.
yes those are backward compatible with USB C, but if you want extra ports it's good to have USB C hub or dock whatever suits your needs.
I received my 14” base model yesterday and I couldn’t be happier! The screen is fantastic, it’s snappy, the size is perfect and I whole heartedly appreciate the size of the trackpad and full-size keyboard. Definitely a welcome upgrade from my 6 year-old 13” XPS.

I got the 14 but haven’t opened it yet. But now I’m thinking if I should’ve gotten the 16…
I ended up canceling my order yesterday when I saw there was instore pickup but because the preorder was made on my Apple Card the pending charge remained there so I couldn’t get the instore one with my credit limit. Now they’re sold out in all my local stores. Just decided to order the 16” M1 Max 32gb 1TB model coming at the end of Nov. via delivery now that the pending charge has dropped. Higher spec that my original order. If it pops up instore again between now and then I’ll call and have it switched to instore pickup.

Missed the initial preorder, but I woke up yesterday morning and built out a 16'' M1 max with the option to pick it up at my local apple store same day. Guess they had a full stock of both models and all configurations, minus the 8 TB SSD option.
I predicted this. Some people will take advantage of anything to make money. Happens on eBay all the time.
