Ok, my therapy sessions were originally free... now I want a polishing cloth as payment 🤣🤣🤣. Seriously though Congratulations!!!! I know you will love it. 😍😁
I feel sooooo guilty though. I know I should be happy and excited but I’m just not. I think I need a couple more sessions…

@TheYayAreaLiving can you pay for my sessions please? Thank you 🙏

FedEx is now saying November 2nd, two days better than apple's estimate. but I've been burned by them before. I still havent seen a physical comparison of the 15" MBP and new 14" MBP. I know I couldn't do the weight of the new 16", but am still slightly concerned the 14" screen size will put me off. Hope not, considering I maxed this beauty out and will be keeping it for some time!

Can we get those sessions together? Seeing my old 16" lying there alone pending its trade in is just making me feel so guilty. This is definitely the most "unneeded" purchase I've ever made in my life.

After setting up my base 14” I was thinking...maybe the 16”?

So I went to my local Best Buy who had nothing on display (slackers).

Then went to the Apple Store and decided to get a silver 16” base, and will return my 14” space gray. 512GB is still enough but the bigger screen size when traveling will be nice. I’m not commuting with it so the extra pound isn’t relevant daily.

I think I feel really good about my purchase. I started with a 14” base model for delivery on 10/26. Then, I read and read this thread. I canceled that order and ordered a 14” pro 32g 1TB for delivery 12/2-12/9. Then, I read and read this thread. On 10/26, I ordered for in store pickup a 16” pro 16g 1TB. I don’t really love that it was 16g but to move up to 32g I would have had to move up to the max chip which I don’t think I’ll need. That is the only standard config that’s out of stock though. I love that I got the 16” I love that I got the 1tb. I hope I don’t miss the extra 16g of ram long term.

The screen on the 16 is just too nice not to recommend it over the 14

Anyone with a 14 inch and a November 11th - 18th window seeing any credit card charges or delivery date changes? I ordered the base model with a 1TB SSD upgrade the day after the event. Hoping it comes a bit sooner.

Edit: I’m in the US

@Appleguy84, Sir… what is your update on your Mac? Any movement? Did you check any store inventory?

Therapy session resumes...

If you are not happy and excited about your purchase you should return it. However, have you opened it yet, played with it and tested it out? If you are even hesitant to open it--return it.

If you're not happy and excited due to the costs involved--return it.

If you've opened it and have gone through all of the processes and are still not happy--return it.

BIG IF... If you've not opened and gone through all of the processes, you may want to give it a whirl before making your final decision.

Also, if you have worked things out financially--robbed Peter to pay Paul or are in the clear, your decision will still need to be to either keep it and enjoy your new toy or to return it and be happy with your current gear.

You have 14 days to return if you just cannot resolve the purchase to yourself. You got some thinking to do.

Therapy session is now closed... for now.😁

P.S. You have to be truly happy with your decision/purchase without the added influence of this thread.

I ordered the same unit 10 minutes after the Apple store opened and mine is scheduled 11/5-10. However, my Apple Card was charged Sunday and the unit went to PTS last night.

Hoping it ships by tomorrow and I get it Friday.

My Nov 5-10 order (14" Pro 10/16, 32GB) just advanced to "Preparing to ship"! Getting closer!
I have the same order (14" Pro 10/16, 32gb/1tb) with the same Nov 5-10 window. My Apple Card showed the pending charge 3 days ago, but also finally went to Preparing to Ship overnight.

I was getting antsy yesterday, when my nearby Apple Store had tons of the $2499 base model w/ 16gb memory (14" Pro 10/16, 16gb/1tb), that I questioned whether or not I "needed" 32gb and whether I should cancel and just get it from the store... I'm happy my willpower stayed true, as I kept reminding myself that in a few months, the extra week I have to wait will be nothing, but I'll be happier knowing I got the 32gb vs the 16gb. Would love if it I could get it by Fri so I can play with it over the weekend, but I think with these UPS issues, more likely things will get pushed back and will be some time next week.

For those of you that stilll stuck in Shanghai… and are Europe bound…

There is plenty of talk going on in the Europe tracking thread and I guess in the UK thread as well…

This one is from the Europe thread… looks like someone found an Korean article about the „ mechanical issues“

I hope our MacBooks weren’t on this plane!

Anyone read Korean?

This sounds like some serious problems….
But it looks like another plane is coming to hopefully rescue our macs from Shanghai…

Now there seems to be a UPS 767 heading for Shanghai from Seoul, currently on the ground taxing: Flight number 5X80, registration N301UP.

Sitting here with my new 16 inch Max on my lap. No fans making noises, this is awesome. I am waiting for my backup to finish on my 2016 to start migration.

Mentioned earlier but will mention again. I moved from the 2016 15 inch MBP. If anyone cannot decide on 14 or 16 inch monitor this is me pushing you to the 16 inch. I would take photos but do not want to get in the way of the 7 hour backup on my 2016.

2021 Feels heavier in my lap but so quiet. Dig the keyboard. The USB C snaps into place. I cannot tell you how awesome that is vs them sliding into place then sliding out when your device ages. That makes a huge difference when presenting in front of audiences and important presenting in general. Heck! Anything in general where you rely on the USB C and are in a situation where cables will move.

I am not floored with the monitor. Expected it to be brighter. It's not bad, it's just not great.

The screen feels like the same size of my 15 but I have so much more real estate.

I might be biased with needing / wanting a larger screen with all of my traveling and presenting but unless you say you want a smaller Mac in general, moving from a 15 to 16 to has simply been a tiny bit more bulk (which I welcome) and more screen in almost the same real estate of the 15 inch

I know this is the delivery forum but if someone can help me demystify some HZ rates with HDMI I would really dig that.

And if someone wants to see photos of the 2021 16 inch compared to the late 2016 15 inch would be happy to do that once the backup is done.

Lastly if someone is in SoCal and wants to buy the 16 Max 32 / 2 T. Maybe we can meet at an Apple Store once my original order shows up and you can buy it from the store once I return it (if they allow that) I am guessing it will be here tomorrow or Friday.

A UPS freighter lost its center of gravity and its tail touched the floor at the Incheon International Airport cargo terminal.

Incheon International Airport Corporation announced on the 27th that at 9:56 am on the 27th, the rear part of the UPS cargo plane crashed into the ground at the 631 apron at Incheon Airport.

In this accident, oil in the hydraulic system, not aircraft fuel, was leaked. However, there was no fire. There were no cargo on the plane of the accident, and fortunately there were no casualties.

An airport corporation official said, "The cargo plane that sat down is not a cargo plane that transported the corona 19 vaccine."

The Seoul Regional Aviation Administration and Incheon International Airport Corporation are investigating the exact circumstances, believing that the lifting of the fuselage occurred while servicing the main gear of the cargo plane.

The dramas!!

Looks like an empty UPS plane was undergoing maintenance, had the nose lifted but then had issues with the tail hitting the ground causing damage.

Lines up with the fact we saw the “mechanical issues” notifications about 18 odd hours ago.

Some folk have noticed a different ups plane from incheon to Shanghai in the air and we’re all hoping it’s the one which will be going to collect our macs!

Why is this like my favorite part?
It's funny you posted this because this morning I was admiring my machine and thought this looked pretty cool.

I'm seriously so happy that you were able to get one yesterday. Well deserved. ENJOY!
I predicted this. Some people will take advantage of anything to make money. Happens on eBay all the time.
Yeah, that post really pissed me off. People are such SCUM it somehow still blows my mind!

You should’ve discouraged me!

I got the 14 but haven’t opened it yet. But now I’m thinking if I should’ve gotten the 16…
Haha.... why's that? Want the bigger screen real estate?

I LOVE the 14" so far. This is exactly what was missing when I bought the first M1 13" MBP last November... I'm so glad I returned that nifty piece of machinery and waited for the one I really wanted.

(Although right about now I can feel that 12.9 iPad w/MK that is still sitting in the laptop bag giving me the stink eye... patience DID NOT ENTIRELY RING TRUE with me this year 🤔😛🤣)

I haven't opened it yet because I'm now debating if I should've gone with 16" instead since I feel like the 14 is too similar in size to my MacBook Air and therefore won't feel like a big upgrade. I like the portability of the 14 but that's what I have the iPad for, right? What size did you end up going with and why?

I wouldn't even have considered one if it wasn't for this damn thread. 🤦‍♀️

MACBOOK PRO 16" HAS ARRIVED!!!

I am so thrilled to announce, it is finally here!!!
I don't have to say much anymore. Enjoy the show!!! Get ready to be amazed!!! This Mac-book Pro has been UNLEASHED!!!
