What size screen MacBook Pro (2021) did you order?

Thanks for checking in! So as of right now, my MacBook is still missing…
I have started an investigation with both Apple and UPS. Apple has already sent out a replacement unit, but that will not arrive until December 12-18th. 😭 I am holding out hope that UPS locates my package in the next few days, that way I can just cancel this replacement unit.

I’m a little frustrated that I contacted UPS 30 minutes right after my MacBook was “delivered”, but there are still no updates. My claim status is still showing as “under investigation”. You would think they would try to contact the delivery driver ASAP and check to see where the package was accidentally delivered?
I feel like Apple makes so much money on these machines it's cheaper to just write them off.

@spiritbox I'm so sorry with what happened. How come Apple didn't allow to see if they have any stock models available at an Apple store near by you? Instead of waiting until December 12-18th? Is it a stock model Mac or BTO?

Can't believe UPS dropped the ball on this. The good news is they are sending out a new replacement to you. All will be well.

At this point.. You might as well get a new Macbook Pro at an Apple store since the holiday return policy until January 2022 has kicked in already. Use it until you get your original Mac. It's not worth waiting that long. You didn't do anything wrong. Apple and UPS dropped the ball. So, it's OK to take advantage of the Holiday return policy. Let us know what you decide to do :)

I feel like Apple makes so much money on these machines it's cheaper to just write them off.
I’m pretty sure that if it is 100% lost it would be up to UPS to pay the claim for the missing machine.
I know UPS is multi-million company too and the $3,000 to replace the machine isn’t much to them, but I’m frankly surprised they didn’t take immediate action when an issue was report so quickly after an incorrect delivery. 😕

With all of Apple’s billions, they should invest in their own fleet of delivery vehicles and scrap UPS and FedEx. Even when you have your order delivered by courier, they always arrive within the stated time frame. Apple should definitely take a cue from their couriered service.

Unfortunately it is a build to order 14” M1 Max 24 Core GPU. I am going to try to stay calm and collected until Monday, hopefully I have some sort of update on the UPS investigation by then. I called the UPS customer service desk and they said that investigations usually take a minimum of 2 business days. After that I will call Apple and check to see if I have any other options like in store pickup.

I will post an update here once I know more!

Oh, Also... when you contact Apple don't forget to have them add a few Apple Polishing Cloth for you :) for free.

Wish I did that! Not on my game, haha.

Today is the first day of real work on my 14" 32GB Max. I was worried about screen real estate initially, the default sizes are way too large for me to keep long term. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/display-menu/id549083868?mt=12 fixed things right up though.

I had traded in my 2018 macbook pro for 540 at the apple store last Monday so used the gift card plus the apple card for the order..I figured whats the point of the extended holiday return if I dont get the macbook til the end of december, defeats the whole purpose, so ordered it a few days ago..so hopefully it will ship soon..will go along with the iphone 13 I got, the notch, eh, its really no big deal the iphone has it I got used to it already :)

The Mac hasn't missed a beat since day 1. Apart from the stupid charging bug and 120hz being delayed, this Mac and the lovely notch that I can't take my eyes off, has been heaven.

@LFC2020 After all the hard work to convince you, so glad you were able to get your hands on your MacBook Pro. Doing the most over here, LOL!
