The poster who yesterday was freaking out because UPS showing was showing his MBP was delivered but actually wasn't, did he get his MBP. What happened?
I don't think he told us the ending .... 🙁 (I just released again just how much I love the emoji key shortcut... that's actually way better than the Touchbar... now I only need to find a way to change that "dictate" function on F5 to something a little more useful...)

He left us with quite a cliffhanger for sure...

Thankfully, my laptop departed from Zhengzhou and arrived at Incheon overnight. So it seems to be moving happily again. The cause for my confusion were twofold:

1. A vague customs-related notification out of Louisville on November 1
2. No intermediate scans or reassurance that they knew where the package was in the one week it was in Zhengzhou.

Really, that confusion comes down to very poor communication from UPS. If they had let me know "hey, this is in outbound China customs and we need it to clear" or "this facility is very backed up, we're still processing and it will be out as soon as we can" I would have been a lot less worried about it.

Amusingly, the "investigation" UPS opened yesterday about my package's whereabouts remains open. The international shipping guy I talked to on the phone was very insistent that the package was actually in Louisville. Whoops.
It feels almost like they are running the entire operation with half staff and just winging it. Old systems and procedures that used to work well with full staff are suddenly flailing. And they just say whatever without checking it because the old capabilities are no longer there. Some dystopic new normal or something...

Glad you are moving again.

My 16” M1 Max CTO was supposed to arrive 11/10-17 but showed up on 11/3. So there’s hope you’ll get yours sooner than anticipated.

I ordered mine a few days ago says arrival between Nov 24th through dec 2nd..its my first apple order, so usually what would that mean, I get it a week prior to that?

I'm in the exact same boat - my 14" Pro 10/16 32gb/1TB has been in ZZ since Oct 29, and the weird phantom check-in on Nov 1 in Louisville kinda threw me off, although after reading this thread and the many days of no update, I was pretty sure it was still in China. Finally arrived in Korea and got a UPS Updated delivery date of next Wed Nov 10 (going to California). Oh well, my original delivery estimate was Nov 5 - 10, so will just be happy to get it next week! Probably would've been better for mental health not to check it at all haha.

Now you can start watching this page from Incheon, and then do the same to Louisville and then the same to your home city. Combine it with the actual release times UPS provides and you'll be able to confirm your beliefs and estimate accurately what day it will arrive. Just add a few hours at each layover to figure out the next plane, etc.

Congrats!!

Mine was supposed to arrive today at the earliest and it arrived yesterday. I actually think the shipment estimates are pretty accurate. They seem to be building the CTOs as they are ordered, then they sit for days in ZZ until UPS clears out the warehouse. Those days will bite your schedule, so just be prepared to roll with it.

I already posted this in the other thread, but still interesting to see the comments on here.

My 14" MBP arrived yesterday and I ordered it... on Monday on Amazon. I live in the EU, so there was not much of a difference for me which seller I got it from, but the base model I got is backordered until early December on Apple website (Austria), while I waited like 2.5 days... And it seems Amazon has lots of stock as I just checked and they are still available.

Fun fact: my MBP ordered on Amazon was €25 cheaper than from Apple.

Has anyone seen shipping updates om 16" MBP (M1 Max) CTO orders?

Shipping dates Nov 29 - Dec 6

All feedback appreciated.
My order has been in progress for 16 days, no updates.

I made 2 orders. My second order is arriving today, I'm waiting for the device as we speak. My first order was a 16" MBP M1Max custom config. You can see more details about my two order's status and specs here on this post thread. Updated status on this post here. The thread is shorter, about 13 pages but keep in mind there are also international buyers on that thread.

This thread has a lot of replies with quotes about all kinds of topics and story lines between 2 or more people. It's hard to keep up! I am interested in many of the conversations but its hard to find replies or to know if the poster reported back. What are you all doing to keep up with the conversations? Searching by the name of the poster?

You can search this thread by user name. I bookmark a post that I'm interested in so I can jump back to the post at a later time and skim through to the most recent. I will also always try to post quote reply someone so readers/lurkers can click on the post quote and jump to the original post, skim down and through back to my post (with a post quote reply) incase there were multiple people referred who responded inbetween.

There's a group of us who had shipments with the same tracking data from Shanghai China all the way to Ankorage Alaska before the shipments split. My guess is due to customers selecting "expedited shipping" vs regular.

Bookmark's are on the top right hand corner of each post (see image below, red circle):

Edit: Also, quick note. I would not try to estimate international orders against U.S. orders. I think Apple has pre-determined stock ready for each country and so some international buyers are experiencing huge jumps ahead in estimated delivery vs actual delivery. There seems to be delays for U.S. custom configuration orders for 16" MBP.

Ok so that's how you all are keeping up. Thanks!

Yeah all good I waited til apple announced the extended holiday returns so I ordered it on November 2nd watching how the day of expected delivery kept on going higher so didnt want to take any chances..besides I doubt that apple gives anything additionally for apple education purchases for Black friday

It's going to move fast. It's probably in Anchorage by now, but if not, here are some options. Once you get a departure scan, it's pretty easy to figure out what flight it is on. Then you can figure out the options for PANC->KSDF after allowing some time for customs and package switching. Mine made it in a couple of hours the other day. Do the same for the last leg and you can pretty easily figure out when it will be on a local truck.

Congrats! You're going to love it!!

Thank you! Very useful info. I’ll definitely be stalking it like a hawk until it’s at my door.

oh no... 😪
I think I just killed my external drive I was using to transfer my data from my old Mac to my new one...😰

I was copying my stuff (from my old Mac to the external drive) and it took forever and during the night at some point my old may turned off...
that must have frozen the copy-process as it didn't continue after waking up the Mac in the morning... Tried to stop the copy-process but that didn't work...(couldn't unmount it either) so after nothing worked I just (dumb as I am ) unplugged the external drive...😩 and now it dosen't show up anymore and I can't mount it...😤😭😭
the onboard disk utility program's first aid didn't help...🥺
don't know... but I guess is unfixable (don't have much knowledge about such stuff either)...🥺😰 I guess I screwed up big time...
(and just to make it hurt a little more the copy process was almost done...like 75%)

Just what I need to start the weekend... 😓
So please people, cheer me up with some nice tracking updates and delivered Macs!

Wondering whether anyone is in the same boat as me. Ordered a 16"/MAX/32GB/1TB Silver a couple of hours after the keynote. Based in the UK and delivery dates are 9 Nov - 16 Nov. It's been in processing since I ordered and none of the courier apps are showing anything.

Just seems a bit strange considering everyone else has either moved up a week or seen some movement.

LG make some awesome HDR videos, first one looks amazing. 👌

Thanks for posting these - 4K & 8K quality checked. I used them to check for back bleed and color saturation on a new LG 32" external display (32UL950-W).

Off/Odd Topic: Watched Dr. Brain on new panel last night using Apple TV Plus - freaky show. I love Fridays because so much new content is released, like Acapulco, The Morning Show, Swagger, etc. Great content to break in a new screen, thanks again. Not a huge purveyor of YouTube thanks to your fav iJustine. lol.

That is the worst! Do you have a backup external drive to make a time machine backup of your old machine?

If not, mount your existing drive > open disk utilities in your application folder > and see if an (maybe) unnamed drive shows up in the left-hand pane. If it does, select the drive > click Erase located in the top toolbar > then in the drop down option, select > MacOS extended journaled > and then click Erase. This process will re-format your drive and then create a time machine backup.

It’s likely that the system hasn’t updated. You can always give Apple a call to check the status of your order. Hopefully, it’s headed to you.

Anyone else's 140W charger get pushed back? Mine initially said arrives Nov 5-9th but now it says Nov 9th-16th.
Unfortunately, there’s been a lot of the new apple gear where the delivery dates are being pushed back from the original dates. Hopefully it will arrive during its original delivery dates.

Wish I did that! Not on my game, haha.

Today is the first day of real work on my 14" 32GB Max. I was worried about screen real estate initially, the default sizes are way too large for me to keep long term. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/display-menu/id549083868?mt=12 fixed things right up though.

Good question! I found his post.

@spiritbox Any updates? Did you get your Mac yesterday?

Thanks for checking in! So as of right now, my MacBook is still missing…
I have started an investigation with both Apple and UPS. Apple has already sent out a replacement unit, but that will not arrive until December 12-18th. 😭 I am holding out hope that UPS locates my package in the next few days, that way I can just cancel this replacement unit.

I’m a little frustrated that I contacted UPS 30 minutes right after my MacBook was “delivered”, but there are still no updates. My claim status is still showing as “under investigation”. You would think they would try to contact the delivery driver ASAP and check to see where the package was accidentally delivered?

Mine has not been pushed back. I was promised an original date of Nov 9th - Nov 16th. It did move to “Preparing to ship” almost 2 weeks ago now, LOL can’t even cancel the order anymore, haha! Good one Apple☝️

Best of luck - you are much more calm about the lost shipment that I would ever be.
