For the new Magic Keyboard - instead of getting that, do you have your AW set to unlock your Mac and confirm things like autofill? I work like 90%+ in docked mode and have the non-touch ID Magic Keyboard w/ Numbers (I think you have the same). Cheers!

I’ve never used the AW to unlock my Mac.

Typically since it is docked, a tap on the space key will do an automatic wake. Yup, we have the same keyboard. I’ve pretty much decided that the new keyboard isn’t a necessary purchase. I just gotta stop looking a accessories. 🥺

When I’m out and about, I’m getting by with typing in the password. I’ll take a look at the instructions to unlock with the AW.

Well, no update on the new sleeve for the 16. USPS still indicates a pre-shipment status with a delivery date unknown message. I'm hoping to receive it by the end of next week since I'll be traveling next weekend. If it doesn't arrive by then, I'll have to wrap it up in a towel so that it doesn't get scratched. 🤣 And I'm still waiting for the skins from dBrand to arrive.

I guess all of the accessories manufacturers have to get caught up with Apple's new design for the 14 and 16" MBPs.

Did you try your tracking number from USPS in FedEx? Sometimes, if it's a FedEx Smartpost shipment, it's a tandem shipment with FedEx and USPS. USPS may actually be waiting for your sleeve from FedEx.

Sometimes you just gotta jump in with both feet. Your SEXY beast of goodness that is the 16” MBP will thank you for it. 😁

Just think of the wear that’s happening behind the scenes every time you shut down/start up whenever you want to use the 💻.

It’s crying in agony every time begging to be saved from the abuse. 😭🥲🤣

I’ve slept my MacBooks for 10 years With nary a problem.

I think shutting down is ideal for PC users because it tends to get very heated even sleeping on low mode but for 💻 they are intelligent smart.

It’s like saying you shut down your iPhone every night 😆

I’m very stubborn lol, I’m going to shut it down every time.

My M1 MacBook Pro still had 100% battery health when I sold it. 👌😎 was using it daily.

Plus I get OCD knowing it’s kinda still on when I’m not using it. Lol

Nothing ever happens behind the scenes on my mac, I’ve only got 2 apps installed 😁

My goddess gets treated better than I do, still haven’t touched the screen since picking her up, spotless. 👌🧐💻

All this talk about sleeping your MacBook when you should be sleeping WITH your MacBook.

Make sure to warm her up first tho because she cold 🥶

Sorry - I should have put more about the AW thing...so I do pretty much put my MBP to sleep when I'm done or let it go to sleep on it's own (as has been discussed ☝️- but having my AW unlock it, as soon as i get near, if i move the mouse or sometimes just get close - the laptop wakes and I get haptic feedback of the unlocking. Then for autofill and passwords, when the prompt comes up on your AW - just double-click the side button (not the crown) and it unlocks the autofill or apple pay, etc. Pretty handy when my laptop is docked and closed.

Just did the trade-in of 1 of 2 older MBPs (this was a 2011 13" 😳) and just getting $70...but I figure it's better than nothing for a paperweight - and the recycling is way better for disposal. I have to say, the Apple Trade-in w/ FedEx QR code is the bomb. No shipping boxes to buy - no out of pocket expenses. Just brought it to FedEx, they have a special padded laptop box with pluckable foam and it wrapped up nice. Now FedEx is responsible for it, not me - so all I have to do is track it to the return facility and wait for my 💵! Faster and easier than Apple Store in my view.

Ok, I understand now. I’ve had that happen when making purchases online while docked where my AW has indicated through haptic that an action was needed. I’ve not acknowledge with my watch but do on my phone since it’s on my desk while working.

Doesn’t matter what size notebook, my workstation has an external keyboard. Even have one at home. Only time I’m pounding on the notebook’s keys when I’m traveling or a remote office.

Just go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General > Apple Watch to unlock etc
