Now, that I’m a little calm now. I tried using the education Apple store but it failed on me twice. I kept getting an error. After that I flashed death in my eyes. Went to the app and ordered two 💻. Thank god I got a launch day delivery.

All this was happening at work too. It’s crazy!
Education store took a long time to load, the website was stalled for a while as well after it came back on the app.

You don't need the pro max chip, you won't even use the GPU, throwing your money away.
If you use an external monitor, or more, does GPU boost graphics acceleration. Thinking if you only use the MacBook display then maybe not take the step up.

So did you cancel the Max? 🤨

Placed an order for a 16" MBP 64 GB Unified Memory, and 1 TB storage. The pricing is insane like I am feeling a buyer remorse but I am sure it will be worth it. I am upgrading from the 2018 MBP (i7, 32 GB RAM, 1 TB storage).

Expected delivery on Nov 24 - Dec 2. If only Apple.com wasn't crawling :/

Btw, I made a Discord server to so we all track shipping specially when they ship from China as that's the most fun part. I am also working on a few stuff in the server like monitoring deals on accessories, etc. https://discord.gg/DBazMx8fBG

Base 14-inch model shows delivery date of Oct. 26. The 10-core model is Oct. 26 to Nov. 2

Base 16-inch model, Nov. 2-9. The 1TB model is Oct. 26 to Nov. 2 (I find this interesting.) The Max model is Nov. 9 to 16.
Thanks! I wonder why people were reporting it’s delayed till December?

@LFC2020 so which model did you order?
None, not a fan of the notch, apple is offering me $920 for my Mac, I can get a base model 16” for $2,500 off the edu store, possibly even cheaper if I sell my mac privately.

What’s a fair price for my base model M1 MacBook Pro, might have a family member who’s interested, don’t want to rip them off.

Help, give me a price.

Still not buying, just seeing what I can get for my mac if I sell if privately. Lol

Sell it privately and then order the new Mac :)

Tried using Veterans and Military Purchase Program through ID.ME - but it never applied the 10% discount.
Contacted Apple support and spoke to two specialists who could not help. My plan was to use the 10% discount then use AppleCard to get 3% cash back on purchase.

Needless to say delivery time has now slipped well into mid to late November.

Needless to say I decided NOT to order and will wait for the updated Mac Mini or Mac Pro as I will probably use more in a desktop environment doing editing. Initially I could have placed my order and gotten it Oct 12-Oct 18th!

Just my luck with Apple.

Edit - heard back from ID.ME who said:

"It sounds like the item you are trying to purchase is not eligible for a discount."

What a waste of time, I won't use that discount Apple program ever again.

Family member or not, I would still tack on at least $280 or so... you know, make it an even number.😁 Or, check out the refurb store to compare what your family member would pay and price accordingly.

I do Have a question. (asking for a friend 🤣). If one has a wireless mouse with a usb thing, will that work in a thunderbolt 4 port? Because we don’t see an usb slots on these new Macs.
I assume your wireless mouse has a USB-A connection. The Thunderbolt 4 ports use USB-C connectors. You just need to get a USB-C to USB-A adapter to go in between the 2. Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Syntech-Adap...=usb-c+to+usb-a+adapter&qid=1634586847&sr=8-3
