OMG, what an experience it was when the store opened. I had the website and the app both up, website came up first, mashed some buttons, the add to cart button wasn't working, then the whole site crashed.....I grabbed my phone to finish on the app and I had 5 of them in my cart! OMG..... $10,000+. That was a bit of a shock.

So in the end, I managed to order ONE base model 14", for delivery Oct 26th. I just bought a 13" MBP from Best Buy a couple of weeks ago, and can return until Nov 2...guess I'll be returning it!

Make time! I can't believe that they aren't allowing you to cancel the order. Is there any way you can do a chat session if not by phone?
Can’t do that. I’m at work. I guess I’ll return one when I receive it. Hopefully the status doesn’t change by the time I get off. I don't know what else to do.

Need help. Staying in Oregon at a friend's place (with no sales tax) until Nov 3rd. Desperately want an MBP 16 before I go back home to avoid the sales tax - BUT the delivery estimate to her address now says Nov 2-9 after saying Oct 26 for the first 30 mins after it was announced (should have ordered then, my fault).

Is it worth taking the risk? What happens if it arrives after I leave, can it be returned for a refund? In past experiences, does it usually arrive within the timeframe or earlier, or later?!

Eeesh. Oh boy, maybe you can try calling once you get off of work and if not, then immediately return the Max. Hopefully it will be between cc payments and it will be returned before the next bill hits. UGH!!!

You are not allowed to even look at Apple's website until the iPhone 14!!! 😂 Grounded for the next year... ok, 9 to 10 months.

You can do this with five MBPs:

Did you customize the one you cannot cancel at all? BTO are like that sometimes when they have been processed.

None, not a fan of the notch, apple is offering me $920 for my Mac, I can get a base model 16” for $2,500 off the edu store, possibly even cheaper if I sell my mac privately.

What’s a fair price for my base model M1 MacBook Pro, might have a family member who’s interested, don’t want to rip them off.

Help, give me a price.

Still not buying, just seeing what I can get for my mac if I sell if privately. Lol
Famous last words - I’m not buying
2 hours later - Hey guys my M1 Max 14” is coming on 27/10. Hurry up Tim Apple
🤣

What would be cheaper... sending it to your friends house and having her ship it to you, or just having it delivered to your home?

You could try going to the local Apple Store if there is one nearby on October 26, and hope they have your model in stock.

I'm going for 16" 32GB RAM and either 512GB or 1TB disk depending on the price diff
Just got this with M1 Max, 1TB ssd and I'm super excited (Arriving 26 Oct-2 Nov)! It's my first Mac and I am transitioning from a 2013 Lenovo (4k, i7, 16gb ram, nvidia 960M, 512gb ssd). I'm hyped about how much better it will feel like! I'm only hoping I won't have to sacrifice many of my Ubuntu workflows/macros.

Anyone know if the LG 5K screen will charge the new 16" MBP M1 Max? Or will I need to have a charger plugged in as well as the Thunderbolt cable for the screen?

Just ship it to your friends house. If it doesn’t arrive it can’t cost much more than 40-50$ to ship it to you at home (CONUS). I do this all time with large purchases. I ship it to our offices in OR and then have them forward to me in CA.
