Just got another update, its in my local sort facility. guess friday delivery is likely

That’s great! Locked in! I am confident I will get mine Friday as Memphis to my local sort facility is a once per day trip that takes place every early morning before local sorting takes place.

Does anyone get AppleCare for MacBook? If so? Worth it? Especially with such an expensive device? I have never but considering. What’s the deductible?

$99 for screen damage or external enclosure damage, or $299 for other damage.

If you've ever damaged or broken a device I would recommend getting it.

Apple is gambling that you don't ever use it.

I custom ordered a MacBook on November 21st. Expected date is between 10-17 of December. Today I received a tracking number from Pleasant Prairie, WI. I think this is the trade in kit b/c it says the weight is 3.7lbs. I really hope they don't expect me to trade in my old Mac before receiving my new one.

I think you have like 2 weeks to trade in

I agree. Many people also miss the Touch Bar. Including myself.

I only liked the autocorrect text suggestion and emoji. Other than that, too complicated to do basic things.

Look at my new 14 inch M1 Pro that I've had for about 20 days. I can see the outline of the keys on the keyboard on my screen. I would have never noticed it on a colored background. I was watching a movie and a scene was very bright and I noticed. I then downloaded a white background and now I see for sure! It's like the keys are imprinting on the screen. Has anyone else seen this on their machine? It could be the plastic keyboard protector. I don't know. I'll remove it but what if this does not go away!!! I took a screenshot. I hope it shows on the screenshot.

UPDATE: I replaced the screenshot with a picture of my MBP desktop using my iPhone camera since the screenshot does not reveal what I'm talking about. Zoom in and look closely toward the bottom of the pic toward the middle. You can even see the "*" on the key of the number 8.
Sometimes I like to keep the paper that they use to cover the screen

That is strange sine my did not even have Clearance delay at all

Maybe by time of day, customs is there or not and it sometimes clears immediately. I think they’re working tomorrow though unsure about customs. Perhaps there’s a chance of Friday.

I did on my 2016 13" MBP w/ Touch Bar, and I decided to with my new 14" M1 Pro also. To me, it's not a no-brainer one way or the other, and there's a lot of little things that could push your decision one way or the other.

I've said this on another post, but things like:
- % cost of new price (when you get one of the higher-priced models, the AppleCare+ cost doesn't change of course, so getting it costs a lower % of purchase price)
- likelihood their could be an issue (eg. Gen 1 of new design, which both my 2016 and this one coincidentally are, hah!)
- total $ cost of a repair and whether that would really hurt your finances
- your mental temperament and potential peace of mind / less stress of having it and knowing you're covered for a big expense
- how clumsy you are
- whether the device is mostly just used at home or you commute with it frequently, whether you have little kids / pets who might damage vs you live alone / all-adult household, etc.

Also FWIW, while I'm generally a believer that getting extended warranties from most companies are not worth it, if it's ever worth it, I think it's with AppleCare+. Partially because of difficulty / cost of repairs. But also because in my experience, Apple and AppleCare+ differs from almost every other Company's extended warranty program, where they're trying to find a way to DENY your claim. In my experience, Apple goes out of their way for their AppleCare+ customers to find a way to APPROVE your claim. As long as you're reasonable and don't treat the Apple employee badly / give them a reason not to help you, I've found they're extremely generous and want to find a way to approve claims.

I always get it for my iPhone. But does Apple only repair the MacBook or express replace it?

I thought the same at first but ended up loving it. It’s no thicker than the other MacBooks. Just looks it because of the non-tapered edges. More battery vs tapered edges is a no brainer
I think if it did not have the HDMI port then design could of been thiner- to me I think the HDMI port made the laptop thicker
