Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Got my shipped notification from Apple this morning on my 16" M1 Max. It is shipping with DHL. All of shipments from Apple have been UPS previously. I have no experience with DHL.

Just received shipped notification from Apple a few minutes ago. My 16 M1 MAX 10 32 GPU 32 MB Mom 1 TB Storage is on the way via DHL due to be delivered on 12/2. Wonder if DHL will be a day or two earlier. BTW Happy Thanksgiving to all.
Same here. Never had them before and I hope they deliver successfully and not have any issues like some have had plus I hope it’s even earlier than 2 December.

Ordered October 20 - M1 Max (32-core GPU), 64-gig ram, 2 TB SSD.

Original estimate - Nov 29-Dec 6
New estimate as of this morning - Dec 15-Dec 22

The weird thing is it went into Preparing To Ship mode this morning as well, making it impossible to change/cancel. The difficulty is I'm planning on being out of town for much of the 2nd half of December so I'm not sure what to do at this point but hope that it gets here a day or two before I leave (I haven't set my exact departure date yet).

My question is, does Preparing to Ship mean shipping is actually imminent and I should be hopeful the new later estimate is just wrong?

Once it’s shipped, you’ll get a new date. It took me 36 hours to go from Preparing to Ship to Shipped.

QUESTION

So, I know people should be enjoying their thanksgiving day, but I do have a question. I do have a keyboard cover ready for my MacBook. I have always used one in the past. But now.....I see that some people are having screen issues. What is the verdict? Is it worth protecting the keyboard from finger oil? Or should I just go naked with the keyboard? Thoughts?
I've been using it for a long time, but I never close the screen with it on

I stopped using a keyboard cover on my Mac notebooks over 10 years ago. They were a pain, took away from the feel of the notebook, and were clunky. Sure, the keys get worn down over time - but what's the purpose of keeping it pristine? Wipe it down occasionally, and live your life. It'll show some character, and IMO, that's a good thing. Resale value will be impacted very minimally to none by a pristine keyboard. It's never talked about practically, and is universally accepted in all the sales of Macs that I've had.

once you take it out of box its kind of fingerprint magnet, but after few hour seems like its no longer like fingerprint magnet

The shipping date for the M1 Max 64GB, 1 TB, 16" I ordered on 10/20 was just pushed from Nov 29 - Dec 6 to Jan 13 - 20!

ETA when ordered Oct 20 is Nov 6 - Dec 3.

..... so far order is "Still in progress"

16-inch M1 Max 32 / 64GB / 2 TB

My order also updated this morning. What's odd is that the status changed to "Preparing to Ship...." but my delivery date also got pushed out to Dec 15 - 22.

Anyone know typically how long these macbooks take within this status before they actually are shipped?

Happy to report I've got some movement on my 14", ETA Dec 1! Timeline:

    • Updated estimated delivery Dec 9 - 16
  • Card Charged Nov 21
  • Order status moved to "Preparing to Ship" late on Nov 22 (you don't get a notification for this, so not sure when it flipped over)
  • "Your order has shipped" email arrived 10pm Nov 24.
    • Delivery ETA Dec 6
  • Fedex Tracking info shows Scheduled delivery Dec 1
    • Still in Shanghai - Hoping Dec 1 is real!

Thats wild. Pushed a month out. I can understand maybe a week, but a whole month into 2022. So sorry. At this point, i'm conviced its related to the 64GB RAM.
You are correct. Ordering a MBP today with 64GB versus 32GB pushes the date from 13 Dec to 21 Jan. That’s a huge delay.

Once it’s shipped, you’ll get a new date. It took me 36 hours to go from Preparing to Ship to Shipped.
I went from Processing to Preparing to Ship yesterday and to Shipped (Express Shipping according to initial Apple Email) today. New arrival date is 12/2 (pulled back from 3-10/12). I have the DHL Shipping Number. SG/16"MAX/10/32/32/1TB. Ordered on 11/1. Depending on getting out of China should go to Alaska then to USA Kentucky then to me (Central Ohio).

Are these people serious?…….I mean really….

I just wondering how I can tell when my 2021 M1 Max 16 inch MacBook Pro was built - anyone know how to looked it up I know its a little harder now since the serial numbers are different and hard to decode-

My Guess my computer was built November 1, 2021 and it was just sitting at the factory, probably waiting for other computers to get done and fill a pallet or skid, before shipping out
