When I called Apple to try to get my MacBook forwarded to Hokkaido, I went to the Apple store in Shibuya for assistance and they were great (I don't speak Japanese so navigating their call center is a no-go for me). While I was there, they checked the inventories to see if they had any stock just to see if I could get one right away. There wasn't but their ability to see the inventory status of each build anywhere in Tokyo is something you could try. It was quick (they didn't have their usual security ppl and the whole check for COVID symptoms process today, so I was able to walk right in).
I can not believe this. Went on the Apple site to get my order info to post on here and noticed I had mistakenly selected the Pro Apps bundle. I'm not even sure how that happened because I would never use those apps. And I just noticed my order status has been updated to preparing for shipment. I have waited about 6 weeks for this and do not want to wait another 6 weeks for a new machine.
And this morning mine has magically left Cologne on it’s way to the UK I hope. So delivery tomorrow 16th still a possibility…..having languished in Shanghai for about a week…….
Well so much for my optimistic view from yesterday. Went to bed last night with UPS finally reporting my 14" Max 32/10/24/4T computer would be in my hands by 5pm today. Only to find sometime during the night it decided to rest somewhere in a warehouse after the long, long journey from China. Now UPS site is showing it will arrive here in FL on Friday Should be good and rested by then with NO jet lag.....
So update on my order, I found this morning that my local Apple store just received some MBP, so I ordered one for pickup today, and canceled the other that was due for mid-january. Super excited!!
Once again, my delivery date has been push back from the 14th to the 15th to now the 17th...
So now I don't know if the Macbook is still in China or it has made his way to North America. I'm in Montreal, Canada. I really hope it will be here this Friday... Those delay are killing me! ?
I ordered on November 28th, got charged on December 2nd and the tracking went live on the 10th. I will update the spreadsheet.

Arrival dates: Dec 15-22, Dec 14, Dec 15, Dec 16, and now Dec 20 by UPS. I think the unit is still in China, but UPS has been saying "on the way" for two days. Hope it comes by the 22nd. I'm also a little annoyed that Apple Care is already supposedly already started but I don't even have the unit in hand.

Mine came yesterday, replacing my 2011 MBP.

Speak of the devil - finally changed from processing to preparing to ship on my 10/21 order, should be here before 1/3!
And UPS updated this morning to a new delivery of Mon, Apr 20. Still sitting in Shanghai. Apple no longer indicates a delivery date just that the item has shipped.
You make a good point, but I did not. I ordered a 16" M1 Max 64GB Ram/8TB... then added AppleCare... I just knew it was around $6000. Seeing the numbers rack up, I could have added a baby goat and would not have noticed it - I just wanted to complete the transaction. I contacted AppleCare first thing today and was told I could just return the software as long as I don't open it. I guess the software comes separately - I thought it would have been installed.
Hopefully, that can be refunded when I get the machine sometime next week.
What's your current delivery window? Mine isn't scheduled to deliver until Jan 14-21 (16" M1 Max 32GB/2TB) so I'm thinking I won't see any action until January. (I'm using a base model in the meantime; and also have the 14" but can't decide which size I want).

Dec 17 – 24. Checked again this morning and still in processing, so I expect it’ll be the latter of those two dates. At the earliest.
