Am I right in that the Max chip seems to be causing a lot of delays? I just ordered a 16" Pro 32GB 2TB (non-max) so will let people know progress. Given start of March as an estimate for now, delivering to New Zealand

Aussie here. Ordered a 14” M1 Pro 10/16/16, 32 GB, 1TB on the 13th of January, currently got an estimated delivery date of between the 15th and 22nd of Februrary.

So finally got mine . Location Sweden . Waiting time : Almost 12 Weeks from order to delivery. Placed order on release day . Spec . Maxed out on every spec. Longest waiting ever but worth it . Have been running it on everything from Cinema 4D, Rendering with Octane, Arnold to Logic Pro , to After Effects, to Xcode, to building node applications in most IDE to UI design in Sketch .... renders are insane fast, compilations of code goes in seconds, exports from AE, Cinema etc are just in a blink of an eye and in Sketch I can have insane large projects with like 200,300 artbords and its smoooth this is the first time ever I had a machine that I don't have to wait for anything . this is mind blowing . (and fans are totally silent even when I push it)

Oooo the machine of dreams

You must have been nervous whilst it was in transit

This is definitely a super duper upgrade cycle for MacBook Pro. Still struggling to meet release day orders

Ordered mine on 12/23 (M1 Max Pro, 32GB RAM, 2 TB drive). I'd ordered one in early December but the order was mysteriously canceled just prior to shipping and I could not get a straight answer from Apple as to why.

Was upgraded on the current order to Preparing to Ship/Shipped last Monday, but no joy on the tracking number yet (it's been one week). Fingers crossed it comes before the January 25th expected date.

Yeah its defently a next level machine . Never knew when it was in transit , did not order from Apple directly .. Its defently a new feeling having a machine that you don't have to wait on anything , renders are so fast its insane :) also having all this space will let me work on my RED Cam Raw footage without external disk will be awesome , like this machine also compiles my code projects in les then 0.5 seconds . my last Maxed out MacBook Pro 16 inch Intel took like 10-15 secs on some code projects compiles ... this is like . that's a massive improvement .. for all my coding ... for 3d renders goes sooo soo fast ,,, and my RED RAW footage exports that I captured with my RED DSMC2 Camera the exports from davinchi, premiere and final cut so fast its insane .. like it feels away faster than my old Mac Pro cheesegrader with 12 core with fans that where very load ,,, and faster then my Mac Pro Cylinder also with noise fan when pushed ....... this one the fans are like ..... .... ....

For those who have received their tracking number but hasn’t registered in UPS’s system, how long did it take for you to actually track it?
Ordered my 16” max 32gig 1tb dec 12 I got the shipping/tracking number 4 days ago and ups still doesn’t recognize it yet. I guess they’re backed up? Delivery date is set for Jan25 so hoping I’ll get a small heads up before delivery.

I got the M1 pro and 2 TB of storage. Everything else the same.

My window is Jan 25 - Feb 1. So hopefully we get an update EOD today.

16" Pro too? That's my exact machine, definitely of slight concern! Thought the Max chip was what was causing the hold up, maybe it's the 32gb of ram

I'm happy to say it's here!!! No photo (and really it looks just like all the others :)). I gave it a good once over, booted it up and am working on setting it up. It's a 16" M1 Max 32GB/2TB monster. I'm sure the Max chip is over specced for what I really need, but the memory and SSD is just right. I guess I'll have to stop my morning ritual of checking local apple stores to see if there are any in stock!

Ups finally woke up. It says it’ll be here next Tuesday. So the time it took from getting the tracking to ups recognizing the number was almost 5 days.
