Always told myself she secretly works for apple, explains why I was the only person in Australia to get a silver SS 45mm Apple Watch for pickup on launch day. 🤔
Your Apple Watch is a special one. Tim Cook personally assigned the serial number along with a model number specifically to you.

Well, like I said... I'm 80% there already. Either way, I initiated a trade in for the M1 since I'm not using it as I anticipated--COVID and will (most) likely use that credit towards the 14" along with trading in the Mini at time of purchase. BUT, I still want to wait until I can get in-store before I make my final decision.😁
Push yourself! You are in safe zone. You will be thankful. It’s time to experience the world class industry leading chip.

I'm trying to save both of them. It's a work of art, putting in that hard work lol. Hopefully they upgrade. If One of them upgrade. I will be happy.

@LFC2020 needs to realize the notch is here to stay for next 4-6 years. That’s the bottom line.
My M1 Super Beast Extra Max is already here. 😜 Tim Cook sent it early. 😊😂

What!? You cancelled the wrong Mac! You'd best move up to M1 Max to get reoriented.

When will I learn? I wasted five minutes doing battle with desktop Safari before bailing to the iPhone Apple store app. In that time, I relegated my order to L+1w status and won't get my Max until Nov 3. Kept wishing my order might bump up, but it seems solidly fixed. Maybe, if I mention your name Apple might accelerate my order?

Can't get around to thinking the apple cloth is necessary, tho.
Well, my Pro Max model was cancelled so hopefully you will snag mine :)

I am hoping to fix my order its still not cancelled but have to wait to get home to get this fixed! I am hoping I still have Tuesdays delivery date when its fixed other wise ill upgrade it to the M1MAX so it will be worthwhile the delay

The scores won’t be the same next week. After you get crushed! Sorry @LFC2020 you are going to take a big L on this one. The best of the best is almost here. Get ready to get blown away in the dust.

Well, you’ve always been pretty clear that the notch with no face-id would not work for you. HOWEVER, if you ever change your mind… we won’t judge 😁
Nah, don’t fall for his games. First, he said he won’t upgrade if Apple decides not to introduce Pro-Motion. He made a promise he will upgrade if Pro-Motion is going to be offered. Then, news came out about the notch or whatever and he flipped the script and acted like he has never seen the notch before 😂. Nope, not going to fall for his games. Don’t be surprised if he flexes on us on Monday next week with his M1 Pro 💻 💪

I use an 11" iPad Pro when I travel so the Macbook is a desktop replacement for me, mostly plugged into monitor, keyboard, and mouse. A 14 inch would be fine for most of my work.

But I went for the 16 inch because desktop programs for content production tend to make good use of all available screen real estate, and I want the ability to do that in the field every now and then. Also, my eyes get worse every year.

If I didn't use the ipad so much, I would have gone 14".
I have exactly the same situation. I bought an 11" iPad Pro for notes and travel, and take the small Magic Keyboard with me. (Frankly, that keyboard sucks. I lost a key on the first day out. And it's more expensive than some mechanical ones. Rant over.)

I will still go for a 14". The 16" is just no fun to lug to the office and back. The 14" is similar to the 13" and I lugged that one everywhere without a sigh. 14" all the way. Particularly now performance and speakers are the same.

Great device, but I can't get over that notch, especially a notch without Face ID.

Very good article.
I don't understand this at all. What's the issue? Where is there a problem? Is something not working? There's a camera in the same place, but now the screen extends upward next to it on both sides. Who cares? If that's a breaking point for a laptop with this new spec (M1Max, XDR screen, 6 speaker system, 512 bits memory bus, 7Gbps+ SSD), you really have to reevaluate what's important in a laptop. But hey, it's a free world and your not ordering pushes me forward in the queue.

I figure whatever floats is boat and makes him happy—it’s all good. I did say though that if he changes his mind, we won’t judge. 🤣 Now, if he flexes on us on Monday, I will be seriously jealous.😁 Next weekend can’t come soon enough. I’m almost tempted to take a day off next Tuesday just so that I can get to the store faster.

Anyone else have trouble with checkout on the website today (potentially just UK site)?
Apple Pay wasn't having any of it and even when trying to pay with card it just kept reloading the same page.
Ended up having to get my basket all done on the site then check out on the app.
Weird as even during iPhone pre-orders I've never had it get glitchy.

Yep, World of Warcraft junkie here. I'm thinking of selling my Dell G5 gaming laptop since WoW runs so beautifully on both my iMac and my MBP.
I play League of legends and used my mid 2015 Mac pro i7 13 on low graphics settings. Played for 6 years like that had no issues. Just ordered the 16 pro wanting to amp up the graphics settings to ultra, looking forward to that.

Welp, I cancelled my original order, and ordered the middle 16-inch model because in the end I realized I wanted the 1TB SSD. When the store opened, I was ready to get 1TB but I got sticker shock so I stepped down to the base 16-inch, which had the 512GB SSD. The waffling made my delivery date Nov 2-9. However, all day I was still debating with myself over the SSD size. I can attach external drives, I told myself. I checked the usage of my current MBP, and figured I can live with 512. However, I couldn't stop thinking that 1TB would be better in the long run. My final conclusion was in a few years, I won't miss the extra money spent to buy the 1TB model; but if I stayed with 512GB, I would see that space available information everyday, and I would regret not going 1TB. It's a bummer that my delivery date is now Nov 10-17, but I can wait for the MBP that I really wanted. I will try not to kick myself for not ordering the 1TB in the first place because I could've gotten my order on Oct. 26. Anyway, thanks for reading. I know the people in this forum and thread would be the only ones to understand this situation.

It's always significantly more convenient to have stuff on your actual computer rather than having it on a separate drive. You made the right decision going with the larger SSD. The internal SSD is so much faster too. One thing to keep in mind is having external storage on these macs can be way more streamlined than before because now you can plug in a 1 TB SD card into the SD card slot and keep it in there semi-permanently; considerably neater than some USB drive dangling off the edge.
