What size screen MacBook Pro (2021) did you order?

Welp, I cancelled my original order, and ordered the middle 16-inch model because in the end I realized I wanted the 1TB SSD. When the store opened, I was ready to get 1TB but I got sticker shock so I stepped down to the base 16-inch, which had the 512GB SSD. The waffling made my delivery date Nov 2-9. However, all day I was still debating with myself over the SSD size. I can attach external drives, I told myself. I checked the usage of my current MBP, and figured I can live with 512. However, I couldn't stop thinking that 1TB would be better in the long run. My final conclusion was in a few years, I won't miss the extra money spent to buy the 1TB model; but if I stayed with 512GB, I would see that space available information everyday, and I would regret not going 1TB. It's a bummer that my delivery date is now Nov 10-17, but I can wait for the MBP that I really wanted. I will try not to kick myself for not ordering the 1TB in the first place because I could've gotten my order on Oct. 26. Anyway, thanks for reading. I know the people in this forum and thread would be the only ones to understand this situation.
Totally get it, and this internet stranger thinks you made the right decision for your situation!

My sister's shipping time got moved up to mid November rather than late December! I suspect she might get it even earlier but we shall see. My dad is also considering getting a 14" this year because he likes portability but won't have to compromise on power.
Here's to hoping shipping times get moved up for all of us mid-November to December times! 🙏

I no longer see the delivery date (10/26) on my order for 16” M1 Pro base model. Hope there’s no problems with my order.

I figure whatever floats is boat and makes him happy—it’s all good. I did say though that if he changes his mind, we won’t judge. 🤣 Now, if he flexes on us on Monday, I will be seriously jealous.😁 Next weekend can’t come soon enough. I’m almost tempted to take a day off next Tuesday just so that I can get to the store faster.
Take the whole week off 😁

Did anyone else dates improve!?

I had Dec 10-23 now it's Nov 17-24!

  • 140W USB-C Power Adapter
  • 64GB unified memory
  • Backlit Magic Keyboard with Touch ID - US English
  • Three Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI port, SDXC card slot, MagSafe 3 port
  • 2TB SSD storage
  • Apple M1 Max chip with 10-core CPU, 32-core GPU, and 16-core Neural Engine
  • 16-inch Liquid Retina XDR display
  • Accessory Kit
Mine was Dec10-23 as well and I noted that configuring on the store showed Nov delivery dates so I called in and they said internally my order was showing as November. It seems now it has updated my order as well to November.

After the keynote yesterday I put in an order for 16” Max 64gb,2tb and had a deliver date of Dec10-23. Today that was updated to Nov 17th. Looks like many are seeing their delivery dates moved up, which is awesome! Keeping my fingers crossed for early Nov :)

How do you know I haven’t?. 😏😂
Folks! This is our clue #1. @LFC2020 is on something...

If you were told a later delivery time for your order than what's currently being shown on the order page, DO NOT CANCEL YOUR ORDER and re-order hoping you'll get better shipping times. Apple likely handles orders based on the order they come in so you'll end up getting your current order earlier than you think (either in line with what the order page tells you or even earlier).

So why is everyone so after Face ID anyway? I know from the Watch thread that everyone here already owns a Watch...the most convenient way to unlock a Mac. Would Face ID really change much for us?

Why does she need a M1 Max for safari and YouTube? 🤦‍♂️
Oh, I totally get why.... because it's awesome and within reach!!

What I never understood is why people spend $100,000+ on a sports car just to drive on the street? I'd be lost with a vehicle you can't really use daily, afraid to get wet or dirty, afraid to park and leave somewhere, and can't use it to haul things. A good friend of mine has a 'shop' filled with expensive luxury sports cars that probably only see 1,000 miles a year put on them. All shiny and pretty. I took him out 4-wheeling in my old Jeep and you couldn't wipe the smile off his face. He was worried about it getting dirty! 😂 Boggles my mind, but it's all about what people like and are willing to spend their money on.

When we're talking about spending about $1,000 more for something you use and enjoy daily, and you can afford it, by all means treat yourself!! There's a lot of other things we spend money on and it just sits around.......

I'm not so keen on face ID. I'm happy with the touch ID. In a world where we now live in masks I'd prefer touch ID.

I like that my watch will unlock my iPhone out in public these days. That's helped a ton.

Also, I finally changed my avatar... hope ya'll will still recognize me. Even if our new MBP's won't... :p
