What size screen MacBook Pro (2021) did you order?

My card was charged on Tuesday right after the order. And my delivery date is at November 4th.
Uhh. That's weird. Apple never charges me for device orders, not even a pre-authorization before they are ready to ship. Maybe they do it different in Germany? In such case I'd say wait till it turns preparing to ship then.

I was just on the phone with Apple Support (also Germany) asking when I can see a charge on my CC. They told me that Apple typically authorises the amount on the CC 5 days before shipping, and as soon as a tracking number is issued, they charge the CC for the authorised amount.

So I unpacked my late 2013 13" again to see if I can live with the smaller screen vs the 16" I'm currently using as my main machine. I can. Also, I calculated the 14" (which is actually 16:10.4 thanks to the notch) is quite a bit bigger. About 1/3 the way to 16". So that's been decided.

I'm now going back and forth between configs between €2500 and €3500, unable to decide ? The difference between me and a large part of all y'all is that I'm not in a rush to receive the machine.

I defended the €230 extra for the M1Max here if you're getting 32GB anyway. But some people more in the know have argued that if you're not going to use the GPU much (which I won't) it doesn't make a difference... Downgrading to the lowest M1Pro will give me a 2TB SSD upgrade for free.

Hmm, people that did the 12 month payment plan I guess there isn’t a charge? Since it was done on day order is placed or what am I missing here?

Also, my order is now for 11/18 ? since my launch date order got cancelled ?

Completely agree, Apple still buys even if you don't purchase anything from them at the time.
I tried to get a quote from them… silly question, is the new iPad 5th Gen too new to sell back? It didn’t give me 5th Gen as an option so I couldn’t get my quote.

The cash website offered me $890 - WITH the Apple Pencil and WITH Apple care. The iPad is flawless too…. but because it’s so new maybe the resale value sucks? 🤷🏼‍♀️ Oh and it’s a 500GB

So I may have to try to sell privately.

Anyway, no movement on my order… checked my UPS app and got nothing there either so far… hopefully later today our first thing tomorrow?

Even if you did the 12 month payment plan through Apple Card, you would have paid the full taxes at time of order. For me, the charge for the taxes are still showing as pending since Monday.

Can someone help clarify - I'm wondering if calling Apple and inquiring on Express Shipping is worth it. To elaborate - I'm wondering if Express Shipping can get me potentially moved up a week (into next week) vs Nov 3-5 when I'll be out of town. If it only gets me bumped up a few days to like Nov 1-2, thats not going to help me. I'm trying to see if it has any potential to push me into 10/26-29.

Also, just noting I'm on 12 month 0% financing with AppleCard - taxes charge is still pending since Monday. (No surprise since I seem to be in the week 2 batch right now).

Worth trying but seems doubtful the shipping options change much as these are all being staged and shipped together as a single unit. When they get to UPS they're all shipped Express so as far as I know shipping speed won't bump your spot up in line in the manufacturing phase.

You can use the Apple app too to chat with them btw - it took me 3 minutes start to finish and I sent 3 whole messages - switched from Standard to Expedited (Canada). However I had Oct 26 delivery either way so I can't say if it did anything.

Yea, this is what I suspected too. And while we may see some entries into UPS systems as they leave China, I suspect that shipping options/speed don't end up getting applied until after they're sorted in Louisville.
