I think when they are trackable, if they are origin scan in Louisville you know it’s stateside (at least that’s what happened with my iPhone 7+ a few years back I believe.
Maybe overnight or tomorrow we will see our scans? I’m surprised not a single person has reported the UPS label here. Dang! The struggle is real.

For what it's worth, I contacted Apple about changing my delivery from standard to next day express. They changed it for me and said it will ship from within the U.S., so at least some stock of the first order wave (for those of us that purchased right after Monday's event) is already stateside.
I just did this. Didn't know it was an option. Ordered 16" M1 Max, 32-core GPU, 32GB RAM, 2TB SSD. Mine is scheduled to deliver November 3-5, with the "ships in" window of 5-7 business days. My delivery date still shows at the same, but the Apple rep said that changing to express delivery will make the delivery time 2-3 days after it ships... so in theory this can mean that I can get it next week instead of November 3-5? Not sure if this (free) supposed delivery change actually changed anything, so I am not getting my hopes up. But worth a shot for anyone with a delivery window after launch day.

I doubt this makes any difference. Apple isn’t shipping ~$3,000 machines via ground service.

Mine has said Express Delivery since I ordered...I wonder if that means mine is already stateside. I think most stuff ships from Rialto, CA or Carlisle, PA, right?

Excellent 👍🏼 I called today and tried this, but was told that standard delivery was my only option. Likely because my delivery is scheduled for Tuesday the 26th. I’m heading out of town for a few days on Tuesday and was hoping to get a delivery on Monday. No biggie. Was worth a shot.

That's interesting, what was your delivery window? Mine said Standard Shipping until the Apple rep changed it. If it ships from Rialto it will be awesome because it will arrive within 1 day for me since I am only about 50 miles from there.

Yeah I think you already have the best delivery date :) Apple probably doesn't allow any of these to be delivered before the 26th (I think the review embargo is 25th).

I suspect that they have a bunch of the more popular configurations stashed somewhere stateside. I guess we'll know for sure in the next day or two.

There was a rumor to that effect, but if these things are shipping with Monterey, not sure how Apple would pull that off, since the Monterey release candidate was just released this week.

Yeah I noticed something weird on pre-order day. I originally placed my order via custom configuration and got a November 3-5 date. Then I realized my config was actually identical to the default high end option. simply clicking on the high end build and checking out gave me launch day delivery and express shipping. I wonder if the site was switching between China custom stock and stateside pre-built stock.

Did you guys see this message? Or has that always been there?

Something interesting to note.

If Macs are being shipped today and are going out, they will have a build of Monterrey on them that will not match the official release, unless these Macs make a stop at Apple somewhere to be reflashed with the official release.

Think about it: 12.0 RC1 was dropped the same day that the Macs were announced and orders were taken. If some are already in shipping status, then they are going to be en route when the next RC gets released, let alone the full official release of Monterrey. Apparently there is an internal release that these will be flashed with, that may or may not match the build number that Monterrey will have when it is released for the other Macs.

From what I'm seeing, 12.0 is scheduled for a October 25th release. It will be interesting to see what the deltas are between the official release and what was flashed onto the initial set of Macs being shipped.

BL.
