Might have to switch to a Thinkpad instead... What a disappointment!

Why not add a Core Solo model for $899? People would buy them in droves! And I'm not so sure about the glossy screen.

QPlot said:simple, they might not get that much money off it. IMHO, design is the key for money, not cpu speed which might sounds like.

I agree with you, it is a bit odd. I think it makes a fantastic iBook replacement. The problem is that they seem to think it also replaces the 12" PowerBook, and there it falls short, mostly because of the integrated graphics. I wish there was a +$ option for a dedicated 128MB graphics chip, that would solve the dilemma.sunfast said:Very impressed that a 2GHz CD is available. Just a shame there is no option for a better graphics card - the specs almost seem a bit unbalanced. But I guess Apple don't see the need for a small pro machine.
Now we just have the months of moaning about integrated graphics to put up with.boncellis said:The worst thing about this release is an end to the mindless arguing over the specifications once a week. I will miss those.![]()

So, it looks like I'll be living with my ancient iBook awhile longer.
I fail to see how having a better GFX chip than the 12" PB means its falls short of being a 12" PB replacement. If your argument was the high weight and size then I am inclined to agree with you, but this does everything the 12" PB does graphically, better.HiRez said:The problem is that the seem to think it also replaces the 12" PowerBook, and there it falls short, mostly because of the integrated graphics. how do you activate this?? it looks fantastic but won't work on my ibook..Leemo said:You *can* right-click using the trackpad itself, tapping with one finger gives you a left click, whereas tapping using two fingers gives you a right click - works amazingly well!

Tastannin said:All intel Macs work with Boot Camp. Most windows games should work unless they are very recent and require a high end graphics card.

It will never be settled trust me. If people can actually come on here and with a straight face say that the GeForce Go5200 is a better performer than the GMA950, then basically you're battling not against knowledge of the flaws of Integrated Graphics by with blind predujice and ignorance.Lewisham said:Well it does do BootCamp. You can judge its ability based on how well we can run WoW.
jxwolf, I am offering a virtual cookie if you can give a readout of what graphics settings you manage to push on WoW and the frame rate it does it at
That might well settle all this stuff about the integrated graphics!
