but are new macbooks and macbook pro really coming out in oct or is it just a rumor, as many now saying jan 09?? and what this thing abt blu-ray, Is it coming in the new mac books or not??

I really wanna buy my first macbook, and wanna leave my ****** windows laptop. But im waiting for the new macbooks. But cant wait anymore. Pls someone give a update on it.:(

I've just noticed that as well. I have never seen the standard MacBooks in the refurb store and I check almost daily. Things are starting to look interesting..

PS. Sorry for the duplicate post!

They have also put all the Macbook line up on the UK refurb store too. I've been looking at it for the last 2 weeks to check for MBP refurbs on there (looking to pick up a cheapy) but there has not once been a Macbook refurb on there. Now all of them? Something is coming. A week tuesday? My guess. 3 weeks from when the new books were "shipped" and a week after refurb goes up. Makes sense to me.

I was talking about the UK store!:D

Didn't realise :p just noticed that the link the previous guy posted was for the american store. The fact that they've both gone up on both stores must mean something... anything!

I did, honest! I was just being a dolt. Tired, early, trying to avoid doing work! I will actually check the USA store now, seeing as they should be kipping right now.

Yup, there on there too! But don't know if they were originally though.

All versions of macbook have just been added to the refurb section of the apple website, there haven't been any macbooks on there for quite a while. Another sign?

It's possbile sign... But this does happen from time to time. In fact I heard from a very reliable source that Apple's refurbs that are priced slightly lower are actually new units in brown boxes. New units sold as refurbs so they don't mark them as clearance, this keeps the updated rollout quiet and price points stay in check.

THey show up pretty regularly in the US refurb store. My supposition has always been that they wait until the refurb factory has a batch of X units before they add them to the store.

So none showing up for a while might just mean that people hadn't been returning many for a while.

spoke to salesman at PC world

hey have just spoken to an advisor from pc-world on the phone. Although he told me straight away that he was not allowed to give out information, he advised me to wait as the new 'model' will definetly be in stores next month- and there will not be a shortage of them!:)

Sinister design- i'm still awaiting your low down of inside knowledge...;)

Praying for both MBs and MBPs to be updated! :(

Ha! I'm sure it was a matter of speak, but I thought the same thing.

With all of the things going on in the world (economy, war, etc.) I'm sure the MBP and MB release are ranked rather low on God's list of prayers to answer. :p

I hope your right
