Maybe Apple planned a formal MacBook and MacBook Pro launch event on October 14th with new form factors, new colors and improved specifications and then did the same thing with the iPod where everybody not only yawned, but told Apple to not waste their time with such fluff.

So they scrapped those plans and will just toss it into the channel tomorrow, unannounced. :p

i agree. It is such a pain to use my macbook without my 24inch LCD. I have to scroll down every 2 seconds.

Yes, the 800-pixel limit on screen height is almost unbearable.

What really surprises me though, is how many MacBook users don't use the two-finger scroll. It is such an amazing little feature it almost makes up for the tiny height.

Whenever I use a desktop Mac, even if it has a huge screen, I really miss the trackpad. I have to move my hand soooo far ;) away from the keyboard just to scroll (or try my luck with the arrow keys; not nearly as good or reliable). The two-finger scroll an inch from the spacebar is a real computing breakthrough.

exactly, when you look at Apples dominance of the mp3 player market compared with their considerably smaller share of the computer and computer systems market it shouldn't be that suprising that sometimes Apple make a lot more fuss over their iPod lines than their computers...

Didn't Apple's laptop market share in the U.S. just go from 6.6% to 10.6% in one year? I would think they'd want to keep pushing that as hard as they could with as much media exposure as possible.

Come on already, just give us a hint so we don't have to wait. I hate apple for this reason alone. Ever other PC maker gives people something to chew on, at least show us what it will look like.

For anyone wanting 4:3 Native, LOL. 16:9 is the future, watching anything in 480i or p is like looking at the TV with Beer Goggles on. Ask your self why the news reporters look like clowns when you watch them in HD. You can see a white head from across the room in 1080p. If OSX 10.5.6 is supporting Blu-ray then HD is in Mac's future.

we are saying that we prefer the physical shape of 4:3. I personally dont enjoy super rectangles, but alas, it is the future. I will adapt.

I agree about the scroll, I used my friend's MacBook for a while and next day caught myself trying to do this on some PC laptop. Incredibly addictive ;).

Tomorrow will be a long, boring, neverending day...

Could it be that the macbooks will arrive earlier..?

It would be nice if I could buy it over the internet - and I live in Croatia.. Since the pricess here for the MacBooks, iMacs and MacBook Pros.. are ... through the roof

Of course you can buy it over the internet, but then you'll pay VAT plus customs duty when it arrives, making it about the same price as just buying it there.

Niceee...

and now just to ask Apple to allow shipping (and selling of course) to Europe -> Croatia..

You mean I can order it over the net ... I'm living in Croatia.. I don't think so.. shipping is limited to US as far as I saw..

If you're talking about buying it directly from the Apple store, then no, you can't get it shipped to Croatia. But eBay sellers always have the latest thing up as soon as the store does, and lots of them will ship internationally. However, this is simply not worthwhile. The inherent risks of eBay aside, you'll still end up paying about 25% on top of the US price because of VAT and customs duties.
