I know the feeling. However, I cannot wait that long. I need a new laptop for uni. This eee pc is not good enough.
Because while there may be 100 of us on these boards waiting for the new notebooks, there are 10000 people buying the current ones

If I recall correctly, when the Macbooks were first announced on Apple.com , the online store went down around 8-9 AM EST. So, I don't expect anything in less than 8 hours, in fact I don't expect anything in September 
I'll be right behind you.
And as the hours, minutes, and seconds tick by with no sign of a last-minute rumor, hope dwindles away with each tick.
But it was pointed out that the latest Mac Pro update did not have any last-minute rumors before it, so we may still have hope…

It would be totally ridiculous of Apple to pull a bullsh*t move like that, since they've had so goddamn long to pull something decent together. I therefore remain confident that whenever we see new machines, they'll be pretty fantastic.

Let's hope Apple have been able to keep a good lid on things and are waiting to surprise us in the next several hours
I'm not quite sure, but I believe last year's were huge. Apple likes to beat records but if they want sales to be anywhere near last year's, then the new MacBooks need to come out soon with something big (major updates). If they wait until MacWorld, Apple will miss out on a lot of sales. Plus, if they waited until MacWorld, there wouldn't be any room for the Mac Pros and Minis and both are long overdue.
I think Apple was/is getting ticked off with all the leaked stuff this year, they probably are trying harder to keep lips sealed.
lol yeah like Sj said in the last keynote that companies realese products for apple products before they even want them to, like the iphone and the nano case leaks
20 minutes till midnight but I won't give up hope if it's not updated then. I will give up hope and be sad if I wake up at 1am my time and there is still nothing. I walk through the multimedia centre at my uni and I think why don't I just use my money and buy a flashy PC laptop. Why am I torturing myself?

I'll wake up at 1 anyway. I'm keeping my hope to the very last second. It would be nice if there were no products released, perhaps some announcement of an event for next week?
...aaand I'm awake and ready to procrastinate in work! In the UK I typically find the store will go down around lunchtime between 12-2. Or if there is an event around 6pm. It's now 08.49. So I'm aiming for either of those two times (even though there obviously isn't an event) if nothing has been updated by then I will shed a little tear, and eagerly await the next Tuesday, every week, until Oct 14th.
Isn't there usually more of a buzz going on if a product is imminently going to be released the next day? Other than on here I'm really hearing nothing.

Yeah, there could be more of a buzz, but as said previously Apple could be playing it close to their chests with this one. Seeing as the ridiculous amount of leaks that happened for iTunes/iPod/iPhone etc. Their computers do seem to be a harder case to crack in terms of leaks, can't say I've ever seen a load of photo leaks for macs, portables or not.
It's not likely to be released today, but I can endlessly hope, and hey, I might get a surprise!
