Hmm that's one more wierd thing:

Carrier Tracking Number
In transit to final destination - carrier details to be updated shortly
Assigned Carrier
In transit to final destination - carrier details to be updated shortly

It hasn't been changes since i got the shipping notice...

It looks like almost every MB is delayed, but im just getting nervous about my shipping details hasn't changed a bit :-(

Edit:Typo

I'm hoping it will change by tomorrow. Mine says exactly the same as yours. If it doesn't change tomorrow, I think I'll give Apple a call to see what's going on.

2 choices.

1. Call Apple and ask them

2. Wait monday for any new updates, otherwise retry nr 1

Mine are the same! "In transit to final destination - carrier details to be updated shortly"

on my apple order status page, my MacBook was shipped via Kuhne & Nagel, and my Aperture was shipped via Flextronics c/o Express Cargo. and there are two different tracking # below each of them, but i can't find a site to use those tracking #

Strange...

If I get enter the 80***** number into apecode and then click the link to TNT I get a page which says:

20 May 2006 21:44 Suzhou Shipped From Originating Depot
20 May 2006 16:36 Suzhou Consignment Received At Transit Point

But if I do it directly from the TNT UK site it gives me a screen which tells me to phone them to get my order status, with none of the above information.

Edit: But it's not an error screen - it knows the pickup date and destination.

I think that we get this status because we have ordered something else besides the MacBook. I have ordered a keyboard also. My theory is that we cant track the order before the two parts have been packed into the same tracking number... The Macbook is shipped to the stock where the keyboards, software and misc are heldm and then shipped together. That would explain that we get the same order status... :)

That's actually a very good theory. Explains a lot... I ordered both the MacBook with mini-DVI to DVI adapter and had to order my mini-DVI to VGA adapter separately, so it shows up with this other Flextronics company. I guess we'll be able to start tracking it when it's quite a bit closer to home, i.e. in Holland.

I'm getting the same, my tracking number doesn't show anything on either TNT or K+N sites.

I ordered White 2GHz, 80GB HD, 1GB RAM. Dispatch email 19th May, est delivery 31st May. I also ordered a MINI-DVI to Video adaptor which shows as separate shipment via Flextronics too.

I ordered on the 16th in the evening, on TNT I get "not found" on apecode the last entry on the 20th says "flight booked". Fed up with no more updates i did some digging on the web. It seems most orders are either going via Shanghai or Shenzhen. TNT flights from China are via China Southern Airlines. On this page http://www.szairport.com/doce/cargo/cargo_inter.shtml at Shenzhen Airport's cargo website there is this spreadsheet which lists all outgoing flights. This includes 2 flights one on a Saturday and one on a Wednesday that go from Shenzhen to Shanghai to Amsterdam. I also found this PDF which lists all flights into Amsterdam. If this is right then some people will be lucky and their order was on last nights flight. The next flight arrives in Amsterdam late Wednesday evening meaning everybody should get their Macbook by Friday, fingers crossed!

I bought my MB last night at 12:11am Eastern. Its a stock 2.0 whiter 60GB 512 Ram.
IN LESS THAN7 hours I get a Shipemnt notification from apple and a Fed Ex tracking number. i paid for the 2-3 day shiping. $18 cant go wrong.

Is this standard. I kept it stock so i might ship faster but i didnt expect this?

Thoughts?

OK here's mine. I paid for 2-3 day shipping as well, and here's the tracking info from fedex. It looks like it's on a truck now that it's in the states, but that doesn't seem to make much sense. The newest update is first, so read it backwards to have it in order.

Hoping to get it tomorrow, but I bet they'll stretch it out to 4 business days. Is there any possibility of a refund since it did not ship in 3 business days or less? It surely seemed to have made friends in indianapolis, as it was hanging out there for quite some time.

Edit: it was in indianapolis for 25 Hours and 38 mins. Oh, and I ordered the morning of the announcment. 06:24 AM PST, to be exact.

Is there a possibility that it will get delivered earlier?

Ooh.. I think I may get my MacBook today.. it's currently 2 hours from my house by car... cross your fingers for me, chaps!

For all of you in Europe who haven't been able to track your shipment because you ordered some extra item besides the MacBook, I just got off of the phone with Apple. My order was shipped on the evening of the 19th. The person I talked to said it was shipping from Shanghai and it would merge in transit with my mini-DVI adapter in the Netherlands. She said it made it on the first shipment, but that it would arrive at the end of this week in the Netherlands (that's one slooooooow plane  ). From there, TNT will take the shipment and it will arrive sometime the week after (specifically she said either the 30 or 31st).

She mentioned it was "delivered to Shanghai" which leads me to believe it could catch an earlier flight and not end up just waiting for 4 days in China gathering dust. If it could just catch a flight today it might be here in time for the weekend! Keeping my fingers crossed. :)

Wow Bolgard! I'll definitely keep my fingers crossed that it'll get there today. You guys really lucked out with the delivery time/service.

I'm in the same boat, estimated delivery of 10:30 am, but mine is already here in austin tx. I'm confused as to how they'd have a package sit there for over 24 hours. Must be a "no later than" estimated shipping date. Mine did sit in indianapolis for about 25.5 hours on friday. I'm not sure what that was all about. Had it not sat in indy for so long I would've gotten it on saturday. I paid for 2-3 day shipping, and tomorrow is the 3rd (business) day, so it best get here then.

Edit: Oh yeah, black/ 120 gig 512 ram (gonna swam the ram from the imac and vice versa)

I just got off the phone with Apple too.

He told me that my MacBook was in the far east, in something called "Rouge", whatever that is?

Anyways... he told me that i should expect it first thing next week :(

When i ordered i was hoping for 3-4 days delivery, as when i ordered my PowerBook...

Well... I don't think we should give up hope yet. I still think the estimates given by Apple are exaggerated so that they won't end up with a bunch of angry customers. I've sometimes ordered things from Apple that said "Ships within 24 hours", had a delivery estimate of 3-8 days and had them arrive at my house the morning after I ordered! And yes, this was via TNT, so they're not always that bad. :)

Uh oH looks like I got a little delay:

Pick up date 21 May 2006
Destination London W
Delivery Date
Signatory
Date Time Location Status
21 May 2006 08:00 Pudong International Airport Potential Connection Delay
21 May 2006 06:17 Suzhou Shipped From Originating Depot
21 May 2006 05:55 Suzhou Consignment Received At Transit Point

Can anyone shed any light on what this means?

Thanks

Flextronics deliver the small items and handle deliveries for Apple when they are dispatched within the UK etc. TNT handle it when its coming from abroad..

I Hate You Tnt !!!!!!!

FFS look at this.

Shipping notification from Apple on the 18th. This got delayed by TNT. I check update agaon and nowTNT tracking now added another fecking delay...

21 May 2006 05:00 Pudong International Airport Potential Linehaul Delay Due To Technical Problems
20 May 2006 21:17 Suzhou Shipped From Originating Depot
20 May 2006 20:24 Suzhou Consignment Received At Transit Point

I HATE YOU TNT!!!!!!

Mine says virtually the same thing, as does a colleague's. However, he says that when he ordered an iPod the tracker said it was delayed in Shanghai (where Pudong airport is) when it was actually sitting on his desk here in Cambridge

I'm hoping it'll arrive by Friday because I'm seeing my sister at the weekend and wanted to give her my old iBook, but I need to transfer the data first. If it doesn't arrive by Friday we won't get them until Tuesday - Bank holiday this weekend, remember?

Thanks for the crossed fingers :)

Here's hoping - of course, wouldn't it be just like a shipping company to get the laptop at a hub 2 hours from your home, and then sit on it for 24 hours? One thing that worries me is that my estimated delivery date is on Wednesday of all days, but the bloody thing is literally two hours by car.

The most infuriating thing is the delays, sometimes hours long, from when the packages get scanned and when the websites have updated info.

Good luck getting your MacBook today in Austin, and good luck to all the Europeans here! Regardless, within a few days, we'll all have our machines.

Mine hasn't got any further than saying "Flight booked" on the 20th May.

Must not obsess over this, must not obsess over this...

Hey, life could be worse - we could still be living from Tuesday to Tuesday in the vague hope of the thing even being announced. At least we know they exist and they are on their way :)

Macbook shipping times

Received confirmation from Apple that my Macbook (2GHz, 80G HD & 1G ram) was shipped on th 19th of May and delivery on the 30th May. I ordered it almost immediately after it was launched on Tuesday lunchtime in the UK. I also spoke to Apple Customer Services and they said there may be a possibility that I might get it a little sooner than the suggested delivery date. I'm crossing my fingers!! :D
