MacBook Shipping Times

Haven't quite received it yet, but it seems to be pretty accurate for me - looks like it should arrive tomorrow, the day it was estimated to on the Apple shipment page, although the TNT page estimated today.

From what I've gathered in the thread the shipment predictions are generally right, but the despatch 'delay' estimates by Apple are pretty generous, mine and lots of other people's have been despatched much quicker than estimated.

Unfortunately, I'd say that you're more likely to receive your parcel Monday. I was going to collect mine at 7am this morning from my local depot but after a phone call to them just now, they say it hasn't been scanned in at my local depot which suggests that it's either still in Northampton or it's on the road. My local depot are due another load of parcels in this morning o fingers crossed it'll be on that delivery.

Hope you get yours soon. The wait is driving me crazy :eek:

I hadn't realized I'd have to wait so long!

The nano and video adapter I ordered at the same time, of course shipped the next day. just twiddling my thumbs waiting now. Nano should be delivered via UPS today. Don't know what's holding up the vid adapter in California.
 
After being told yesterday, by TNT, that my MacBook was in the Netherlands, but would not be delivered earlier than Friday, now the status page says 'Out for Delivery' and a TNT girl I spoke to confirmed that it's in the truck and on its way to my place.

I do hope that this time the information is accurate.
 
My TNT nightmare continues...

I thought there was light at the end of the tunnel when a TNT rep told me yesterday that my parcel was expected at their depot overnight, and would be out to me today.

My heart sank (again) when I checked the web tracker this morning, only to find it hadn't changed. I phoned TNT and I was told this load of crap:

"We haven't received any consignments this morning, due to fog. I won't have any more information for an hour or two, so I can't tell you anything."

I shouldn't be surprised, but they never cease to amaze me. It's very strange that, looking at the weather reports for last night and this morning, there's not a sniff of any fog (none serious enough to stop a truck, a boat or a plane anyway).

Oh well, only an hour or so before I get my intelligence insulted again by the wonderful people at TNT...

Sorry to hear that mate.

Fortunately, I haven't had any more problems and I am now using my MacBook which was delivered about an hour ago. It's my first Mac and it looks great, really happy now I finally have it.

Hope you get it sorted, good luck! :)
 
received the macbook a couple of hours ago and all is well. the tnt expected shipping time turned out to be accurate.

i ordered mine a day before you (that sunday), and I have the same estimates that you do. I really hope it comes sooner though. I'm crossing my fingers for a shipment of today.
 
Satisfaction at last. I finally received my MacBook. I had a call from my local depot to confirm it was there and I went to collect it a few hours ago. In work so haven't had a chance to have a good look. Glossy screen is great with hardly any reflection and I'm wearing a high visibility vest (due to the nature of my work) and I can just about make it out. Happy to say that there are no dead or stuck pixels whatsoever! Screen quality is amazing and what can I say except I'm glad I moved to a Mac.

Hope all you guys still waiting get yours soon and I can guarantee you it's well worth the wait.

Yet another phone call to TNT, and yet another slap in the face from them.

"Oh, it really should have been here by now. I have put in a request in for its exact whereabouts. It might be in Northampton or it might be in Dublin."

This, after being told yesterday that it would definitely be received in Belfast overnight and out for delivery today. They don't even know where it is! :mad:

It's pretty annoying to put it mildly that people who ordered their MacBook days after me have got theirs, and I don't even know if I'll have it this week.

Irritatingly, my MacBook hasn't arrive with TNT as such. The status changed to:

07 jun 06 32 05 Flight Booked
05 jun 06 30 63 handover at supplier
05 jun 06 00 04 Picking confirmed, EDI received
05 jun 06 30 61 Consignment Booking received from supplier

Yesterday. Looking back through the thread, everyone else's seems to have flow the same day that the flight was booked.

Considering that I ordered the MacBook on the 19th of May, I'm getting more and more annoyed with each day that passes. :mad:

Finally delivered. Sadly it has gone to my parents as I'm not in at home during the day.

I'll be picking it up this weekend.

I'm in London.

To be fair to Apple, a large part of the problem thus far has been with MBNA (I took the 6 month interest free loan option...).

My next problem/battle is going to be over Applecare, however. Mine commenced on the 4th of this month, whilst my MacBook has been in China. That seems pretty unreasonable to me.

I think we're on the same plane:

But I don't have a clue why our ETA's differ by two days...

I've heard mention of TNT transporting them from Ahern via the road network, rather than flying them. I guess that Germany may be a little more accessible... :)

So did mine, but I'm out of luck. It's dead. I get a white screen, nothing else. Tried resetting the PRAM and the PMU, following instructions from people at AppleCare, but to no avail. They say I'll have to order a replacement, which will take another two weeks.
