I HATE TNT. They said my 2nd Macbook would be here the 16th. Today I get to know that my Macbook was last scanned on 13 June 13:00 in .... China. No way that gets here on the 16th. Even the 19th is becoming unlikely. Why does Apple work with such a crappy delivery company? Not even their tracking website works. Every I time I want useful information I have to call 'em at 12 cents per minute.

Having ordered my MacBook on the 19th of May, the ETA is now the 16th of June for delivery.

The MB was dispatched on the 1st of June, so if it is delivered on time it shall have taken 11 working days to arrive, which is totally unacceptable.

This really has removed all of the initial excitement I had over buying a Mac.

Well, my MacBook is now out for delivery with UPS. Impressively, they only received it yesterday!

I hate waiting ...

so I'm lucky there is an Apple store down the street. I got my first Mac yesterday. :D Shiny white 2.0G Macbook. The two things I'm waiting for are: a sleeve to protect it and the 2 1G RAM cards (ordered yesterday). Next stop is the Barnes and Noble for a good OS X book since I've been playing with Windows/Solaris/Linux all my computing life.

Anything else I might need?!?

There's one not too far from me, but I was tempted to order over the telephone because of the discount I received...

delivered 5 days early

My Macbook shipped one day early, june 11th, and arrived 5 days early, June 14th instead of 19th. from suzhou, china to houston, texas in less than 4 days. FedEx is hot.

Hi,

I'm going to cancel my order. I ordered my Macbook on the 26th of May, had to wait until the 7th of June for a order confirmation (I went through the interest free option - which delayed the confirmation) and was advised that my macbook would be built and sent out by the 14th June (today). I spoke to the Apple Team today who advised me that it would be shipped today. I've just checked my mail and they say that "due to high demand" they can't have the Macbook built until the 28th of June now with an estimated delivery date of the 7th of July.

To be honest I don't know if anyone else has suffered this kind of setback, but it must be the worst I've ever dealt with when purchasing any product from any company. This was to be my first Mac and I was really looking forward to it, but unfortuantely I'll just look to buy a standard Micro$oft Window$ laptop now.

I must thank Apple for wasting my time!

I would suggest you call them and say that the service has been unacceptable. Let them know your thoughts and concerns. They'll listen. For the most part, Apple is really good when it comes to listening to people bitch them out over the phone.

stranger, just give them a call and be pleasant.

i called yesterday and they offered an $85 credit to keep the order.

there was a thread about this with multiple people having been offered similar monetary enticements to keep from cancelling. nothing to lose, right?

As of 6:37 PM, June 14th my MacBook was in transit from Anchorage, Alaska. Oh man, what if by some miracle it gets here Friday? Am I deluding myself by thinking that? No. Realistically, it'll take a day to get from Alaska to say, Toronto and then another day to get to P.E.I. (where I live), which brings us to Friday, and you don't get a package the day it arrives in your town. So Monday for sure.

I ordered my Macbook (white, 1GB ram and 80gb hard disk) yesterday, 14th of June. Estimated build time 3 days, shipping within 5 days and delivery the 28th of June- so far it is ok. I sure do hope it is not delayed……

The differences in shipping times seem strange. Perhaps it is because the Macbook is produced on different factories depending on keyboard layout? I have seen some produced in China, while others apparently are made in South Korea – Does anyone know?

I owe my apologies to TNT. After complaining to Apple and TNT (even though I don't think that had an effect) my shipment became fast as lightning.

15 Jun 2006 08:12 Mannheim Import Received
15 Jun 2006 04:39 Hub Rhein Main Dft Consignment Received At Transit Point
14 Jun 2006 21:07 Arnhem Hub Consignment Received At Transit Point
14 Jun 2006 21:02 Arnhem Hub Consignment Passed Through Transit Point
12 Jun 2006 22:15 Suzhou Shipped From Originating Depot
12 Jun 2006 12:00 Pudong International Airport Potential Connection Delay
11 Jun 2006 12:13 Suzhou Consignment Received At Transit Point

So I will get it tomorrow. I'd get it today if today weren't a holiday here. Hopefully it's the last time I have to wait for TNT.

New Zealand is closer than North America / Europe to China but 15 hrs? How long does a flight from China to let's say Christchurch take?

Well, my MacBook arrived yesterday (I had to collect it from the UPS depot) and it was, as expected, worth the wait.

I hope that Apple brings out a decent consumer desktop next (I don't really like the iMac).

Should have read this thread yesterday

Ordered my 17" Macbook Pro (glossy screen & 2Gb) last Friday (the 9th). Received an shipping notice from Apple yesterday. Then, at 08:30 this morning, a TNT truck turned up at my door. "No way" thought I, "it can't be". Then came the knock on the door and the TNT man said: " Your neighbours are out, could you sign for their parcel please?"
Now I've read through this I'll be a bit more realistic and be patient (even though I've bookmarked every tracking page in the thread:) )

Well, after two days of use my MacBook has developed a dead pixel. I called Apple to see if they would agree to fix it (I realise that a single pixel is deemed to be acceptable, but it ruins the experience to some extent), and they have agreed to repair it if the troubleshooting doesn't work. I'm rather pleased as a result.

Hi everyone,

Ok I calmed down a bit  and spoke to Apple today. They said that the reason that my order had been delayed was because of the bag that I had selected being out of stock, and that there was a 2 week wait for this. I told the Apple lady to cancel this and now they have changed the shipping date to the 20th of June and have promised to have it with me by the end of next week.

I suppose I should calm down a bit in the future before making any stupid, rash decisions :p :)

never ever bundle stuff together when ordering, especially when shipping is free (order some more stuff if your below the limit)

Yeah the €6.50 shipping charge is worth bearing if it means your not waiting weeks for a cable or bag to become in-stock....

My new macbook (black one to replace my previous white) is due to be shipped on the 19th, with expected delivery date of the 21st. From China to Ireland? Dont think so,

As this is a stock black macbook, I suspect they are delievering a big batch of them toa distributuion center in Europe and hence the 2 day estimate for delivery.

Added to the fact I cant cancel my macbook, which as I revealed earlier in the thread page 2 or 3 when it was my white macbook on order, is a good indication that item is being shipped or on its way to being shipped. The fact that I havent received shipping confirmation in a day and yet I havent been able to cancel for 36 hours, backs up my theory that a buch of books are on the way to europe and will then be sent out seperatly once they get there....

Either way, a lot quicker than the 13 day shipping estimate Apple gave me for my white macbook.

My second MacBook (first one was dead on arrival) got here today, somewhat earlier than anounced, and within five days after ordering it. The shipment was given top priority because this is a replacement, of course, but still, that's impressive, all the way from Shuzou, China to Utrecht, Netherlands in under five days.

This MacBook seems completely okay. It's not noisy, there are no dead pixels, everything works. It's a 4H624.. build.

Apple shipped my CTO 1gb/80gb out on the 15th as estimated, to St. John's, Newfoundland, but the FedEx website wasn't updated in a while. I tried their phone system to track it, and it didn't know of such a package :( - the phone rep found it, and said it was still clearing customs in China, but an hour later online it was in Anchorage. It seems to have missed the afternoon flight out, but should still be here Wednesday.
Edit: They update slow - it made the flight!

It looks like it will travel the same route as lots of others, China, Alaska, Tennessee, and then to my province.
