if anyone wants to know an easy way to keep monitoring the Apple Store with an automatic browser refresh every 30 seconds, just copy this HTML code into TextEdit and save as an HTML file:
Code:<html> <head> <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="30"> </head> <body> <FRAMESET> <FRAME src="http://store.apple.com/"> </FRAMESET> </body> </html>
yeah, and then load the HTML file.
Which would be better with the current line up a 250GB 5400rpm HD or a 200GB 7200rpm HD?
with not only the U.S. store down, but all international stores down something big is coming.
Well, wiht 50GB being the determining factor. I would say that would put maybe 7% of that in the high speed sectors closer to the center, so density wouldn't give you that much of a boost on the 5400 drive.
Figure, if you spring for one of the 200G 7200 Hitachi 16m disks, you will be better off.
Definitely buy one yourself. Apple is a ripoff for ram and HDD upgrades.
------
Yeah I was leaning toward the faster drive but wanted to ask? Really I knew Apple was a bad choice for ram but HD too?? Wouldn't it be an advantage to buy it with them and have it all setup and good to go out of the box?
Yeah definitely, plus the meaning of life can be solved in few seconds with the new MBP's.
Well yes for convienience. But being both cheap and poor I would rather keep the extra money for myself. Their HDD prices aren't "too" bad, but to install 4G of ram in the current MBP models, they are making about $600 pure profit for something that takes about 5 minutes and a screw driver.

Any idea on what time the store usually re-opens when it is down or is it different every time? Seems earlier in the day than usual this time.
I copy this into Text Edit and saved as HTML... How exactly do I "load" it?
You know what it would take to have a Beatles reunion? Two traffic accidents.
