OMG...please let it be new MBP...

Actually I was trying to find a price on refurbished mac minis and copped the "We are busy updating the store for you and will be back shortly", tried to navigate back to the Store homepage and got the same message...

Fingers crossed!!!

NINE MacBook Pro's at 16 to 25% discount

Seven years ago I bought my Pismo G3 within two weeks after the release of the new (then) Titanium G4. At least 20% off, a great computer still going strong, probably the best buy I ever made.

Might be a good time to buy one of those MacBook Pros at 25% discount.

This was what I was thinking - both updated. The only problem is that all these current rumours about today seem to be all based on each other - I'm wondering if we're just getting 'echoes' from all the rumour sites, which are being artificially amplified into new rumours, giving the effect of adding credibility.

That Appleinsider story was a blatant copy and paste from a forum post on Macrumors, and there is nothing particular to say that this article didn't do the same (ie. no new information).

But I think that this article will be correct because it sounds plausible that they will be updated together (and quickly get everything up to speed with the new multi-touch pad) as has happened frequently in the past.

Can't wait 'til this afternoon. Avidly waiting for the "Apple Store's down" post :D:D

US store is currently down at 5:58 eastern time!!!!!

EDIT: if you go directly to the store from the homepage it is down but if you go to it from anywhere else it is still live.

Yehey!!!

Eagerly awaiting for new Macbooks. Planning to buy one for my wife. (actually, my old macbook's gonna be for my wife, while i give myself the new one.)

If this is true and both lines are updated tomorrow, we'll have to deal with Macbook Air complaints about no updates.

Well, the Air just came out, and the MacBook and MBP are just getting the features that they have (and penryn). Why should they complain

My MBP Wishlist

Blueray DVD
MutliTouch Track Pad
500GB HD or higher
Choice of Glossy or Matte Screens, (I still like my Matte screen)
Same 15" & 17" with a new 13" Pro model
Magnetic Latch
An updated Aluminum exterior with color options, (i.e. Black, Red, etc...)

That would be enough for me to upgrade my current Intel Core Duo MBP... What else would you add?

US Store Down

I keep telling myself not to get excited, given the number of times I've been disappointed this month and last... but when I check the threads last night and again this morning... and the US Apple Store is down... well, I'm getting a bit giddy.

C'mon, New MBP!

The UK store is down and this suggests (to me anyway) that it's a significant update, due to the fact that the last 3 weeks have bought updates to things such as new iPod nano (pink) and aperture 2 and the store didn't go down at all to update these....It's also quite early for the UK store to be down

This could be a bigger update because all the stores are down. Previous weeks only the US store was down and the international stores were updated afterwards after the US store update.
