um...hello

It says in the first one that it is a picture based on the rumors...like they obviously photoshopped it to show you what the rumored specs would look like in place...it doesn't say that it is real

I'm in the middle of downloading apple's website. Do you think once it's done, i'll be able to find the MacBook Page? It could be that they already upload it, and they just make the url weird or something, so that you can't find it, and somewhere in the 15,000 files it's downloading, i'll find the macbook!

I really hope the MacBooks come out soon (no, it won't be an iBook), my old G3 iMac really needs to be turned into just a web/music server.
It would make sense to get the iBooks out soon, even if its not next Tuesday, as there are graduation presents coming up, shopping for new students, AND I think Steve really wants to walk on stage at the Developers show and say the intel transition is complete, now lets blow MS out of the water with 10.5!

That's actually old information. That was the original plan, but with decreasing prices and Merom coming out soon (MacBook will stay with Yonah well into 2007, while MBP will go Merom), the MacBooks will start with core duo 1.66MHz on the low end and will all have dedicated Radeon graphics. And don't ask me where I got this updated information, because I am under oath not to tell.

Something tells me this dude is right... hasn't he been right before?

How do any of us know what the new Macbook looks like?

Its a Macbook Pro 17" ...

See the distance from the button to the CD slot, that is almost twice as long as the distance on my old 15".

that's kindof lame of Apple, to "push" sales of a product that's about to become obsolete in 2 days.
If it's true. I guess the only people would know are Apple Sales people... any here? I'm reserving judgement 'til I talk to one.

yeah but weren't palettes of G5's shipped to the stores ahead of time and wrapped in Black paper and shrink wrapped before they were announced at WWDC a few years back???? I seem to remember there being warnings of not to open until a certain date.

Or was it the 17" PowerBooks???? Oh my God!!!! My mind is going in it's old age!!!!!!!!!

I don't recall about the 17" PowerBooks, but it definitely wasn't the G5s. The first shipments of PowerMac G5s didn't go out until a few months after they were announced.

Speaking of G5, I'm surprised how many people think this iPod/MacBook snafu was a big deal. Sorry, but it was nothing compared to the G5 screwup before the PMG5 was announced. At that time, we didn't even know for sure if there would be a G5, let alone when it might be announced. Yes, we knew about the PPC970, but not if it would become the G5. That was a HUGE leak, and Steve even had to add a slide about it in his keynote presentation.

This one is much different. We all know the iBook will be replaced by an Intel-based laptop. Sounds like it's pretty much a given that the form factor will be slightly different with an all-around redesigned case. The only question is when, and exact price/specs. Apple accidentally putting "MacBook" on their website briefly doesn't give any new information. Big whoop.

yeah after finding out that that's the day when the new Red Hot Chili Peppers CD comes out then I kind of lost all hope....but there's still some left in me. It's probably just the special edition ipod. :(

Thanks. Was that a yes or a no to my question though? Will I be able to find the macbook in all the downloaded files?

No you will not. Downloading a website simply follows all the links and downloads all the pages from those links. If Apple doesn't supply a link, it won't be found.

By the same means, google would have found it long ago.
