Make it so things finally sync across IOS and OSX. I cannot tell you how annoying it is that email badges do not go away on my mac when I read the email on my IOS device. The same thing is true for notifications, reminders, etc. It is all of the Apple stock apps that have issue. If I use gmail or google services it clears everywhere. Apple wants us to use their services, but little things like that annoy the hell out of me.

I never see anyone else really complain about this, but it frustrates me to no end.

Make Photos able to have multiple databases, or make it so that pictures can be MOVED into an album, instead of COPIED into it. Wading through hundreds of pictures looking for one is a pain... Just trying to separate older pictures into albums is a tedious affair...

Oh, and sorting email folders! Can we FINALLY get that ability? Please!
You can already have multiple Photo database. Just hold down the option/alt key when starting Photos, and it will ask which database you want to use, and also the option to create a new database.

Pictures are never copied into albums. There is only one original in your Photos library, and when you add it to an album, only a reference is added to the album. if you erase a picture in an album, that reference is deleted, and the original is still in your main "All photos".

Are you scrolling through all your photos manually? I can imagine that is a pain. I usually search for photos to find them quickly. You can search by date or by any of many more search options, including infortmation that has been automatically tagged for you. Try searching for cat or beach, and you'll get all photos with cats or beaches in them.

About the mail folders. Is it the orders of the folders in the sidebar you want to sort, or the mails in the folders? The latter is no problem.

Fix the green button bug; windows should be expanded to the maximum size possible without hiding NECESSARY access to the file menu and dock. For some reason the green button hides them. Pretty boneheaded by Apple.

The green button was changed to the full screen button it's not a bug, you need to hold the option key while pressing the green button to zoom the window.

Well, if there is a utility like that included in the Server bundle, it should be moved to standard macOS as well. There is a number of services running on every mac that most people don't know anything about.
Some services (e.g. file sharing and others) can be enabled in System Preferences in the standard macOS, but web-server (Apache), mail server and some others are only in the macOS Server, because most people don't setup mail servers anyway. You can still use the mail and web servers from standard macOS, but you have to configure and start and stop those services from the Terminal, unless you install macOS Server.

Bring back color labels again. Improve working with PDF's in preview (like fixing disappearing signatures).

The first one wont happen and the 2nd one is a very minor bug I guess, and my real estate GF will keep using Acrobat.

Otherwise, i cant think of anything i want. Just don't break anything or regress on any basic functionality please, i know you guys like too.

Edit: Oh, I actually got a couple of minor ones. Change color flags in Mail like dots as they are in iOS, and change Pages and Numbers dock icons so they mimic their iOS counterparts as well.

Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference is set to kick off on June 5, and along with a new version of iOS, Apple is expected to introduce the next-generation version of macOS, macOS 10.13. We've heard no rumors on what to expect in macOS 10.13, so whatever Apple introduces will come as a total surprise.

With iOS 11 expected to get a major design overhaul, we can perhaps count on some similar design tweaks in macOS, but beyond that, there's no word on what's coming. As with iOS 11, our forum members have created a couple of macOS wishlists, outlining some of the features they're hoping to see, and while macOS isn't quite as popular as iOS, there are still some solid ideas.

macos1013-800x500.jpg

- Redesigned iTunes/Apple Music - Some MacRumors readers would like to see Apple overhaul iTunes in a big way, splitting out Apple Music and turning it into its own distinct app that's not combined with the App Store and iTunes Store.

- HomeKit - Connected home products can be controlled through Siri or a dedicated Home app on iOS devices, but on the Mac, there's no built-in way to interface with a HomeKit setup. A Home app for the Mac would be a welcome addition, and perhaps the Mac could even serve as a HomeKit hub like the Apple TV and the iPad.

- Expanded Dark Mode - macOS Sierra included a Dark Mode that darkens the dock and the drop down menus across the operating system, but several MacRumors readers would like to see an expanded Dark Mode that darkens all interface elements like Finder and Notification Center.

- Multiple docks - When using multiple displays, it would be nice to have access to separate docks for each display.

- iPad/Apple TV second screen - This is unlikely to happen, but one reader wants to use an iPad or an Apple TV as a second screen for a Mac. This suggestion overlaps with the iOS 11 wishlist, where readers said they would like to be able to use their iPads as a secondary Mac display and as a drawing tablet.

- Combined Siri/Spotlight - Several MacRumors readers would like to see Siri and Spotlight combined on the Mac, allowing for a unified search/Siri experience. With Siri integrated into Spotlight, Mac users would be able to type Siri requests and get the same search result with voice or text. Users also want to see Siri improvements, which could happen as Apple is rumored to be working on new Siri features.

- Better full screen options - For users who like to take advantage of full screen apps, better management options would be welcome. An option to open a new window in Split View from the dock or an iPad-style drag-to-close feature would improve Split View.

- Improved window management - Windows 10-style window snapping is a request that pops up multiple times across the wishlist threads. As one reader points out, window management apps like Magnet are some of the most popular in the Mac App Store, suggesting this is something a lot of Mac users would like to see added to the operating system.

- FaceTime Picture-in-picture - macOS Sierra brought picture-in-picture support to the Mac for videos, but it doesn't extend to FaceTime. That's a problem that prevents FaceTime from being used with a full screen app because the FaceTime video window doesn't stay on top.

- Messages - In macOS, there's no support for stickers or other Messages features. Adding support in the next version of macOS would bring macOS in line with iOS.

- Apple News - The Apple News app is limited to iOS devices, but it could easily be brought over to the Mac as a native app.

What features are you hoping Apple will introduce in macOS 10.13? Join in on the discussion about the update on the MacRumors forums. Make sure to check out our iOS 11 wishlist roundup too.

You can still use the mail and web servers from standard macOS, but you have to configure and start and stop those services from the Terminal, unless you install macOS Server.

Standard macOS no longer ships with most of those services. You can install them third-party or install and manage them through macOS Server.

I want a robust but lightweight macOS with new, revolutionary, real and truly useful features that don't revolve around emojis.

I'm sure Apple will get right on it and deliver this very specific feature request.

One more thing. If there is a long file name in finder, have the column adjust width automatically. PLEASE!!!

I would say the algorithm would keep in mind a priority of folder over filename and the depth of the hierarchy, all relative Finder width size, plus allowing for at least 3 levels deep of Column View first and foremost. No one needs one file screwing up the width when you can rename the file.

How about an email client with decent Activesync implementation and that can handle IMAP folders without spazzing out all the ****ing time?
It would be nice to ditch the type lag and constant downloading errors as well.

It already handles IMAP very robustly. How your service provider [I am my own] and it's configuration goes a long way to the stability of your results: server-side is key in IMAP management.

The ability to use your iPad Pro in a similar way to a Wacom display tablet would be absolutely fantastic. I honestly can't think of any reason why Apple couldn't do this (especially since there are already apps on the App Store that basically do this). It would also make the Apple Pencil much more of an ideal accessory. As a 3D Artist, I would love the ability to use my iPad in Zbrush.

Sadly, I'm almost certain that Apple will not do this. No matter how much they claim that they want to get back in touch with the pro user market, they will always cater to the masses, spending countless development hours on animated emojis. The ability to use your iPad as a 2nd (or 3rd) display should have been built into Mac OS and iOS a long time ago.

Yep. I'm big on that one. Drives me nuts when I hit the wrong keys and it fires up. PS. Pittsburgh won. :(

You can disable it in System Preferences. Leave it alone as it's not hurting you but it's really one of the Tier One features of Mac OS X.

I also really hope that this OS is focused on performance enhancements, just like with El Crap and Sierra.

I'll probably do what I did this time by installing the betas on an older Mac I have laying around but not upgrade it on my main machines until it reaches Service Pack 3. That's what I did for Sierra and with that it was a better experience than El Cap with Service Pack 6.

In general, I'm pretty happy with macOS. In the improvements departments:

1. APFS standard. This is easily my main hope for 10.13.

APFS will take several OS X iterations before it gets to be stable. New filesystems are usually the trickiest thing you can develop as they take years to become efficient and scalable.

No thanks. I like it just the way it is. Full screen with no distractions. Everything I need is a simple keyboard shortcut away.

Make the OS open so it can be installed on non Apple hardware officially.

Won't happen but that's what I want to see.
Hell NO!!!!!

Plug and play support for external GPUs! Since Apple doesn't want to offer good GPU options for a decent price, they should let us get our own.

Agreed. Apple's hardware is outdate, overpriced and SLOW garbage.

Why would you ever need full screen for apps like the Finder?

I'd like to see a tag cloud/browser UI in the Finder. Tags seem like an afterthought to me. There should be a tag cloud UI that lets the user zoom in/out of the tag cloud, along the lines of what Ironic does with Leap and Yep. The true potential of tags will never be realized until Apple gives us a standard UI control for working with tagged objects, be it documents in the Finder, messages in Mail, etc.

I'd also like to see them fix the half-baked smart mailboxes in Mail that don't properly update their badge counts. Drives me nuts.

When 'uptimes' for OSX/MacOS are often in months does a few seconds really matter? It is not like Windows where every update and application install seems to need a reboot you know.
This would be about 9,999 out of 10,000 on my priority list.

Speed and efficiency does matter. Boot times are one indication of this.

More directly, as far as boot times, if you dual boot MacOS/Windows, it's quite important.

I hate snapping with a vengance. This is one of the things that frustrated the hell out of me with windows. It reeks of 'nanny knows best' when it comes to positioning application windows on the screen. By all means add it but let me turn it off.
I use two 4K screens at the moment (iMac + 4K Dell) and this feature is about the last thing I want to be added.

You know what's even more irritating than the overly eager window snapping in Windows? That stupid "Aero Shake" feature where if you accidentally wiggle a window it minimizes everything else.

**** that feature! My favorite part is the only way to disable it is a registry hack.

Things I'd like? An official package manager would be nice. This part is dreamy, but perhaps a good API for network file shares (and cloud storage) that deals with things like a loss of a network connection. Splitting up iTunes into separate movie, music, and iphone management programs would be nice.

Making the App Store not require an icloud account for free downloads and system updates would be fantastic - I can't remember if system updates require it though.

You mean when using a second display, right?

Volume Control on DP/HDMI
OPTIONALLY! I'd like the option but I'd probably stick to having a bit for bit signal at full volume sent over HDMI.
