Is that a Finder window that says /Volumes/Storage ? How do you get the Finder to show the full path in the title bar? Are you using some kind of third party utility to modify the Finder UI?

1. Have you installed any custom fonts?
2. Did it start happening after you installed Mojave on your unsupported Mac?
3. Is it limited only to Finder?
4. For the testing purposes: could you, please, restart your computer in Safe Mode (holding shift key during startup process) and see if the issue reoccurs?

2. Yes it started happening as a result on installing Mojave on my unsupported MacBook Pro.8,3
3. It is not limited to the Finder. I also see this issue when trying to access some menu apps like connecting to a wifi source.
4. While in Safe Mode the issue doesn’t not occur.
When booting up normally everything appears fine. The issue doesn't happen right away, but after several hours I may notice it which forces me to do a restart depending if I can simply work around it for the time being before I really need to do a restart to see what I am doing.
Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Your custom fonts is not compatible with Mojave. For test use a different default font and check if the issue happens or not.

i have an early 2009 macmini 3,1. I had previously patched it to work with macos High sierra, and then patched it again to work with macos mojave, both times using the dosdude1 patch. both patches worked fine.
Yesterday, however, I restarted my macmini and it did not boot correctly: it would run the preboot apfs patch, then show the prohibited sign. After many wipes and installs, repatching, updating preboot, I have gotten nowhere.
I was able to successfully reinstall and boot el capitan, but when I tried to reinstall macos high sierra via patch tool i encountered the preboot patch then prohibited screen. The preboot patch did provide an error however: “cannot find apfs system volume” then it would restart and boot into my usb patch volume. Ive tried installing as mac os extended journaled as well as apfs and both ways I get the prohibited screen.
Does anyone have any advice?

If you can boot into macOS Recovery, run the Terminal - enter csrutil disable and reboot.
Hey this worked for booting high sierra. I had tried it before several times but this time i did it like this:
reboot into recovery
run csrutil disable
run post install patch
force rebuild cache
and wait to press ok on dialog prompt until cache rebuilds.

Creating an USB drive with the patcher (latest available version), booting from the USB drive, formatting a big enough second external USB disk (either HFS or APFS), installing Mojave and finally applying patches seems to be ok.
But the result fails to boot.
Choosing the EFI boot option I get a list of messages from the "custom booting method" (different ones for HFS or APFS) which look similar as those shown in

In best case the system starts over and boots El Capitan from the internal disk.
Any suggestions?

- I have a small but annoying problem concerning low battery notification: I don't have anymore sound or popup (since I switched to Mojave), which causes sudden shutdowns. Any idea how to get it back?

Unexpected shutdowns are almost always caused by a failing battery. What percentage does it normally shut off around?
It happens below 5 or 2% (probably 0%), so that's totally normal. But it can change rapidely depending on what I am doing and nothing warns me of a low battery level anymore.

CoconutBattery (Free app) can be set in preferences to alert you of a low battery (at least it did in the version I've used ~ 2years ago).
I tried different App as well from the App store, but none of them are able to notify me, except one that I removed because it was seemingly messing with the SMC (battery level was incoherent and causing sudden shutdown at any charge level). After trying all the resets / reinstall and all, I removed this app and the random shutdowns look effectively gone...except that I still need a notification of some kind at low battery level, especially at fullscreen.
I can give it another try, but I don't see alerts in the preferences of this app.

Based on what you describe, as mentioned by @jowaju , this sounds like a defective battery to me.
On my MBP2012 with ~ 600 cycles I can see going down the charge gradually , always.
Even when it goes down to 5% , there's enough time to look for the charger somewhere around the house without a shutdown.
How many cycles does the battery have?
As a side note : shutdowns caused by intermittent power can (and will if regularly) corrupt the OS and/or data.
EDIT: apparently coconut removed the alert in preferences , that's a shame.
Anyway, when using e.g. a MBP ,I'm used to keep an eye on the battery status every now and then, IMHO that's one of the basic things using a device running on a battery.......

457 cycles (still in "good' condition, "state of health" 84%), I changed it less than 2 years ago. Of course I am constantly keeping an eye on the charge level. That's easy when working, not when watching something fullscreen, so I am always surprised, when forgetting to plug the charger, when the system is shutting down (at 0% battery) without warning nor notice.
If it is not software (as I thought because I had notifications with High Sierra and previous OS), it might be related to another bug that I notice when charging. Sometimes, once the charger is plugged, the laptop is powered but the battery is not charging. I have to repeatedly un/replug from the wall until it accepts the charge. So I consider changing either the charger or the board with the connector in the chassis.

Sounds like the battery is failing, the sudden change usually caused by fluctuating battery health. This is why the consistency of the battery health is a true measure of a good battery. I had a battery with 60% health and 2000 cycles and it never caused a sudden shutdown.
OK, definitely hardware then, I'll try a new battery.

- I downloaded SecUpd2021-005Mojave.dmg (1.79GB) from https://support.apple.com/kb/DL2078?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
but when I try to launch SecUpd2021-005Mojave.pkg, it says my system is not compatible with this software...
Any idea where it comes from? (the MBP13 7,1 is upgraded to Mojave from dosdude1's patcher)

There are tons of battery apps out there, but this one is free and seems to have low battery notifications, perhaps it will do what you need?

Does web browsers like Brave-Opera-Yandex etc. operate in Mojave 10.14.6 anymore?
after a security update during this early summer, the MacBook air won't show these browsers
only in safe mode, and allowing these apps to control my computer in accessories did not help.

Usually use Firefox (91esr), but writing this right now from Brave. Don't know about the others you listed.
